Been watching a little and seems nice for now. I just hope XJ won't be accepting 1000's of maps all of the sudden. Even though the meaning of the new mapcheck system is to make more maps come out and previously, this shouldn't be like CC (not that there's something wrong with CC). Also, will start playing the maps ASAP. Been busy with exams, Roskilde Festival, soon spain etc.

It's nice as far as you won't accept votes like "Yes from me, because I like this map". People should explain their choice.

Yea but so far hope XJ wont accept maps with comments like "yes i like it" "w00t map rocks etc" I've seen only 3-4 constructive comments...

Remake, sn00p, if you read the guidelines, it's says that votes like that will be considered spam and punished by a warning.

To all above except Gamster: You're talking about the map nominations system, not the mapcheck system. I strongly believe the poll is about the public mapchecking subforum (which nearly nobody takes part to). If it is about the map nominations system though (which would make the poll question pretty weird), then I don't know. It's too early for this poll either way. Nobody has seen how it has worked. No map has even been released with the current system. The map nominations haven't had a single effect in anything yet. Only one person (koukouz) has actually checked a map and given feedback. I think I'm still confused as I have no idea how the map nominations system works. At what point will you take the map to the XJ mapcheck? When it has "x" number of "i like yes" votes?

i wasnt sure if i had to choose "yes and active" or "no", simply because i remember the old poll to vote what would be the best system, and there were tons of votes (few thousands if i'm right), but now that the system is released, it seems that less than 10 persons actually take 15 mins of their time to check a map and give constructive feedbacks. so i voted yes, but i think this system will end up with a big fail, again, because community is always very active before the fact, and when it's done you can't see more than a few members (always the same it seems) doing what they actually have to do

well it's ok, the jumpers choose what maps they jump and it's alright but i don't want to take part because i'm not good at mapping so i probably would say bullshits and it's better to shut up than saying bullshits, isn't it?

Obviously yes and taking part. But I think, there are some flaws associated. Firstly, for example a map has got "N1" no of positive votes, and a second better map has got "N2" no of positive votes. (N1>N2) Now, obviously map 1 will have a better chance to get itself selected in the process, probably "as per the rules". But who can rule out a second fiddle being played out by the middleman? Nor You. Nor Me. What I want to tell is very simple- A more "famous" person/mapper having more followers would prolly get more no of persons to back him up. I would be very glad, and I wold pray to GOD that this doesn't become true, and the admins have to work it out, so that this kind of corruption doesn't come into XJ. So please look into positive/constructive comments only. Secondly, I do understand that number of positive votes is important, but according to me, what is more important is that- to tell people, why a map has to be denied. Which means, we need MORE DISCUSSIONS in the discussion thread about "why a map shouldn't be accepted", 'cause even 1 big flaw has the power to nullify 50 positive votes. (So my request to mappers, plz actively take part in the "discussion thread" and work out on the flaws of a map) Thirdly, I think, its too soon the judge the process, let's see the process for a couple of weeks and see how it turns out. Thank you :)

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, maybe it was a bit too early to make this poll, but the system is pretty inactive now so I wanted to see whether people think it's a bad idea, are confused about it or just too lazy at all. I kinda see that many people dont even bother to download maps to test them. They either know the map and post "yes because blablabla" or they dont know the map and dont even download it to comment on it. This way many unknown but great maps will go down (Like cgturnier_runde5) and many average, but known maps (like uq_suncliff) will go up... This kinda sucks in my eyes
