New Jumpserver

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

as you might have noticed we got a brand new jumpserver lately. Thanks to our generous new sponsor, which will be announced in a seperate newspost soon. With the new server we decided to change the structure of our servers a bit. The old "Open Beta Server" got moved to the new server and will be open with 21 slots in the future. The old server got changed to a special server for beginners, running a modified mapcycle with easy/average maps! Last but not least, the cupserver is now known as "Server 3" instead of "Server 1".

If you think some maps are missing or inapropriate feel free to leave a comment and we're going to reconsinder the mapcycle. A good mapcycle will be the key to success on this one, so don't hesitate to tell us your opinion.

The maps fit the categorie, and it's nice with a new gameserver, but to be honest it feels like just another server with the most played maps :(

pretty much fail cause the idea of the beginner server was only 3rd place at the voting .. and still u put it as a server .. kinda funny isn't it how u ignore the voting.. in the end why you even put up the voting ?

akkord... funny how you write that we "fail" when your whole comment is a fail tbh. 1. I assume you had wanted an extreme server as well, which was even ranked way behind "Beginner" in the poll... 2. Putting a poll doen't mean that the we strictly go with the majority without further thinking. We also check the arguments given in the comments and make our own thoughts. 3. The poll got ~1000 votes. XJ has 50.000 members and more than 100.000 people worldwide enjoy playing kz maps. The ppl who are going to benefit from a server with easy maps, because they just started playing kz maps are mostly ppl who don't even haven an XJ account yet, and therefore didn't take part in the vote. 4. I agree, there are a lot of easy servers out there. But XJ is the central hub, ppl come to our site because they want to learn kz. It's way easier if they find one of the easy servers (with some good jumpers on it) right on this site, instead of having to search for one... 5. Easy/Average maps can be played by ALL sort of ppl. Newbies are able to beat them and projumpers can go for amazing runs. This doesn't fit for xtreme maps, most ppl will spec all the time or disconnect because they go fustrated. 6. We became aware of the fact that it became harder and harder for beginners to get settled here at XJ as a bloody rookie, because the averages skills are advancing and growing all the time - and the site and community isn't really friendly for beginners at the moment. Just ONE example: There are over 500 maps in the XJ mappool, nearly NOBODY knows all of them and it's kinda impossible to tell all the maps that might fit for beginners. Also the new maps which are rated "Easy" aren't really easy or beatable for beginners at all. Making a good mapcycle for the beginner server was a real challenge. I get a lot of messages about it recently. Therefore XJ is going to be a lot newbie-friendlier than before, to win new members instead of driving them away because they get fustrated so easily. This are some real arguments, if you wanna discuss. We never said that we would follow the outcome of the votes blindly... I'm sure 90% of the voters haven't thought about all the details given in this post and just made a quick vote according to their preferences. Good admin work requires more than that...

XJ will never cover non-official maps, since it wouldn't make any sense at all (denying maps for their flaws and bugs, and then host them on a server?). I know there are SOME good ones, but mostly they are bad and people just play them out of curiousity and then leave again after a short perios of time ^^

this is so unfair ... so the Poll was not nessesary then?? .. i mean .. "Bhop maps only" won with the most votes .. it even got 61 more votes than "Beginner maps only" ... so why didnt you guys make a bhop server!?? ... why even make that poll if you guys decided to not care about what the members want!?? :S ... im getting so sad when i see this :(

I agree it would be great idea to have the other server to be hard/extreme server, so basically the map cycle is a complement of ez/average server's cycle.

I think it's a good Idea. Cause now are hopefully less noobs on the Open Beta Server, so i hope that people often vote for a hard map there. I hope it (ye my english sucks in this post ^^)
