I personally think it's not necessary. Ther are trolls, flamethreads and insults in every other forum, can't see a reason to care too much about it. What about taking the control over the forum right now without touching the past?

Look, definitely its not a bad idea but .. here comes a question, it is necesary to take admins their own free time to do this? I really dont think so, its really not necesary and this could be really annoying work. So i vote no. Better go outside with fiends or doubleclick your hl.exe, than this :)

You dont have to remove the post if it`s spam.. if you see that the thread is going in the "spam" direction then close`it. I think that this "forum cleanup" is unnecessary because is taking alot of admins time(wich is precious),time that can be used on other important things like: -updating "map shortcuts" page; -creating a real kz-history page(i think it`s too hard but it can be done in the near future); -making ROTW more enjoyable(i`m not saying that i`m not satisfied |i love`it| but many people think that ROTW is not choosed properly); I`m sure there are some more things to do, things that are more important than "spam cleanup". peace.

such a website needs to be reduced somehow, I think removing the useless posts is quite a good idea. If I'm right, you would only remove the very very stupid comments like "+1" and insulting comments but still keep the trolls? I guess you can't get rid of it since it's an inevitable part of any forum. Trolling isn't bad, it's internet humor, but XJ seems to be allergic to it. Anyway, what cahz0r pointed out seems to be justified actions to privilege, more than a forum clean up. I still voted yes for the reasons above, it has to be done soon or late imo, and soon is better.

Well in my opinion if you did your job from the begin there wouldn't be anything to clean BUT now that you think of doing it it's quite late. Think does even somebody read those old forums? Better be concern about the present and clean the current posts so the same thought doesn't appear again in your minds. I think now is quite late for fixing your previous mistake since nobody reads those posts anyway...

We're cleaning topics that's as old as 06, and back then the rules were very different to what they are now. Therefore, we are doing it (amongst other reasons). Also, I enjoy reading old posts, to learn how XJ was 4 years ago, and also when you are using the search function you often come across old threads.

I still search sometimes for some very old records,and looking into the past of the kz history is nice..and you want just to wipe a part of yourself..great,too bad you think only about yourself and forget everyone else,meaning you car...NOT.

We're not wiping anything. All the threads are still there, we only remove spam posts/treads, offending replies and so on (Like someone writing "trololo i am dumb trololo"). Everything can still be read and enjoyed :-)

I quit KZ and just logged in for this vote. Definitely no. It's pretty much erasing a lot of old history and forgotten players. Also to whoever will be checking posts and deleting them, good luck.

You should explain it better then, because I thought it's about cleaning generally old posts/topics too, and I didn't see a discussion about it in the "Website Issues" Forum or so. Anyway, I don't really see the sence in it. What are the arguments? Do you get some space back delete old spam stuff? This seems to be the only good reason because I don't think the few people who browse old posts care about spam posts. I don't know for sure though.

Is the motivation to stream-line and compact informations in the forums or is it just to delete or censor inappropriate content? I am very strict with streamlining on the HLAE forums, it surely has an impact and causes lower forum activity (which is intended). This seems appropriate to me, since the HLAE froums are mainly for Q&A and not for chatter or keeping a diary of the past.

I think you should do this, but somehow you mustn't delete old threads. They are a part from this website from the verry beginning and you should keep them. Oh, and I totally agree with koukouz. You just have to remove stupid comments and pointless thread's like "why i cant do 250 stat only 249" or so. Thats just my opinion. Keep the good job.
