XJ Newsflash
Hey guys,
a few things I'd like to announce, regarding our website and running projects:
1. The public mapcheck area was closed for obvious reasons: The activity was going down ever since the first maps, probably because people did realize that it’s actually a hard work to check the maps and give constructive feedback. If you take a look at the forum we had around ~30 people involved and 30-38 replies on the first maps, but only 4-5 replies on the latest maps - even though there was a reminder about it in the news.
Therefore we decided to stop the experiment and don’t touch the old system.
2. Since there were a lot of questions about it, I talked to Moxx about this and he gave me the information you all have been waiting for: The Mappingcontest died, because there was NO submission at all. He forgot to post News about it since he assumed that nobody would care about it anyway, since there were no submissions.
3. I want to take this opportunity to ask you guys out there: Do you want to see any contests in the future? And what kind of contests would you like to see: Mappingcontests, Moviemaking Contests, or different/creative Contests (most stylish way of doing a particular trickjump)? Please only reply if you are seriously willing to take part in the respective contest. Posts like “gj, go for it†won’t help at all, if nobody takes part in the contest when it’s started.
4. Last but not least, we’re recruiting new Mapcheck Admins again , since we had some drops due to inactivity and some down going quality lately. If you want to make an applications just write me an PM with a decent application. There will be no form this time, so you’ll be abled to write whatever you want – however it should make some sense if you want to be taken into consideration. You’ll also be abled to use your public mapchecks as reference if you want to apply for the XJ Mapcheck team, since the content is still visible for only this purpose.
Best of luck to you all :)
