The "kayne" incident: 2 Cheaters, New policy against cheaters, thopa kicked
Hey guys,
there were never such a controversial demorelease in the history of XJ before, so you might already know what I'm talking about: kayne's new "shortcut" in clintmo_bhoptoon.
Some of you guys already suspected that it might be cheated, since there is no ramp or anything similar. After further investigations we found out that it is cheated indeed and the shortcut is not possible because it doesn't exist, also this is a new era of cheating, since he used a very lame and nasty way of cheating: an AMXX plugin which gave him a 2000 u/s velocity boost at the push of a bind/button.
For this lame way of cheating - and also leaking FPS-Death - he will be punished with a permanent ban.

s1z3 who did submit a cheat demo using this plugin, too, will get a permanent ban from the website as well, especially since he was involved in leaking FPS-Death too.

The possible coder of the plugin xPaw, who did at least know that kayne was using the cheatplugin and didn't report it to us admins, will get a permanent ban as well.
Take this as a warning, knowing about cheaters might get you banned as well.

A new policy against cheaters:
Due to the recent poll about 64% of you guys want to see harder punishments for cheaters. Therefore the rules got updated and all cheaters using hacks, plugins or such to cheat (which cannot happen "accidently") will get a permanent ban. Also it just comes in handy that SteamIDs are stored inside the demos after the latest cs update, which will help a lot because cheater won't be abled to come back with other nicknames that easily anymore. Now they need a new account at least, whic means they need to spend real money if they really want to come back and cheat again.
However, we offer every cheater a one-time chance to convince us that they changed after a period of 6 months. This will happen over an essay written for us admins, including the motives of cheating, the way of cheating (including detailed explanation of which programs were used and how they work) and some words about what caused a change of thinking. Any attempt to avoid the bantime by creating new accounts, or using the accounts of a friend, will blast this chance.
Note: The recently unbanned cheaters won't be allowed to submit demos unless they write such an essay.
Some other minor adjustments
One of the pretty old rules, which caused some controversy in the latest release, got updated as well.
Kill yourself at the end of the demo. At the time you kill yourself, you must have a nickname which is the same as the nick you submit the demo with.

The nickname you are using in your demo has to be the same as the nick you submit the demo with. Make sure you are using your correct nickname and that it's visible somewhere in the demo. To achieve this we strongly suggest that you kill yourself at the end of the demo.

Some words about thopa
Unfortunately kayne's cheatdemos had another side-effect. After he got busted he decided to go mad about it, insult all of his old friends and to do as much damage as possible, including posting a leaked version of FPS Death Admin to our chatbox and IRC, which was passed to him from s1z3, the admin of the community Cypress-Climbing. s1z3 is obviously a guy who can't be trusted, no wonder that he was previously banned for cheating (bhop script) on XJ as well. The really outrageous thing about this is, however, that our beloved demo admin thopa was the one who handed out FPS Death admin to s1z3 in the first place, without permissions to do so from one of the CEO's or the FPS Death coder eDark himself. By doing this, he was clearly abusing his admin permissions on XJ as well as all the trust we had in him in a very awful way. Only god know what damage this might cause, since FPS Death only can provide security if it's not available to possible hackers and coders... Therfore we'd like to ask you to keep the file for yourself and don't share it, because this will do damage to XJ and our record section. Also the program got changed, so you might watch out for a possible trojan/backdoor infection. However I want to say thanks for all the wonderful work he did for us by bringing us a huge amount of demo releases, sad that it had to end this way.
Note: I just wanted to add that Cypress Climbing is not considered as "official" community here at XJ, no matter what their banner says. Therfore it didn't (and won't) get any official support -at least not under the current leadership.
