Excellent post and very true. Some old records are still very enjoyable to watch like a0ke's old record on ultrablock. Sometimes you prefer someone's style like hel's, mjuuh's, flaip's, bibo's or soul|ftw's or raw power like stormzz's, yours or many others. Demo is not lost if it is enjoyable to watch, if it is not just demonstration of best time on the map.

I know that you changed in that point, everyone becomes younger and I just wanted to give the best example I know. As you say it, now you guys joke about it. That is probably because you became older and I am sury ndR that especially you do not understand kreedzing as competition nowadays. So my example was not there to offend or critizise, since I do not critizise the past. It was just there for being an example. I wanted to keep this article rather short. You could spend ages talking about that topic, I know that. But the only thing I try is to cause an impulse that makes you think about this certain topic. Probably many people already did that and my writing is superfluent... But in the case you didn't, it may be time to.

I totally agree with you and I know you never meant to offend me or anything, and you didn't! I just explained all of this because a better example would have been me vs zhady, not vs zocker :P But it doesn't really matter in the end eh? :D

That's a good essay, but I don't agree with the definition of the only way to be happy about kz. kz is almost nothing without competition, indeed. You can pursuit something beyond competition, but other essences of kz are always based on it. I bet every kzer gets addicted to kz because of he wants to conquer other jumpers or just the mappers.

I see kreedz as an art. I enjoy watching old demos and trickjumps more than new records. Of course, if they are made on popular maps such as goldbhop, I would watch them just to see what was improved. When I records trickjumps for myself, I concentrate way more on how my strafes looks, compared to the difficulty of jumps. I prefer a beautiful run on goldbhop, rather than a fast and ugly run. Kreedz is really an art for me.

You are right fantasist. I should have said in the beginning that this point of view is one that people have that played kreedz for years and earned a certain skill level. When you begin with kreedz it is personal achievements and competition that makes you feel satifsfied or happy. No doubt. But as you have seen, I just talked about the record holders here. Since they do not continue to develop as fast in the beginning this addictive character is kinda gone. It is a very interesting topic to write about, maybe I will do it :D

Record holders may have a different perspective on WRs from other people on XJ. I think some record holder can easily write an article about it, but it's almost impossible to make players who haven't got a WR understand.

The reason the pool is not only for the people who have access to the exclusive forums, is because whenever someone buys VIP/Becomes an offical MM/Mapper the group would have to be edited. No one forces you to vote.

dEMolite: You should know that e107 is really unflexible when it comes to that ;) You can really use your time better than making an extra userclass containing all donators, record holders, mappers etc... I think it's fair and plausible to make the assumption that people that don't feel affected by the vote in any way... stay away from it? Also everyone is able to see the parent ("border"), so everyone might would want to vote anyway.

yea thats true that .7 is unflexible with that, but i am more familiar with the .8er versions with the better userclass system.
