Mapcheck team released from duty
Hey there,
it's probably no big secret anymore, the XJ internal mapcheck team is having some major problems and you guys out there had to wait longer for mapreleases (and the mappers for answers/results regarding their maps) than you should have to... All of the newly recruited admins are kinda inactive and don't bother to test maps at all anymore, nor did they take actively part in an internal discussion about a solution to this issue. This is why we feel that we had to release the mapcheck team from their duties.
Time for some changes.
Yeah, it's true that the general map quality seems to be decreasing (a note regarding that problem was posted some days ago), but we (the official kreedz community) can't let that affect our admins moral and their activity. I don't think we can do anything against it, mappers come and go and mapping is something that needs to come from heart and passion. Therfore, we can't "force" mappers to submit high quality maps and we can't force mapreleases.
Having said that it is obvious that we can't blame the mappers for submitting low quality maps. They do the best they can, and that's exactly what the mapcheck team is supposed to do.... but in the last months this was not the case.
We're currently having an internal discussion about how this problem can or should be solved and I'm going to inform you guys as soon as we come up with some solutions - probably followed by a public (and internal) vote as well.
