Hello XJ!!!

This week we present to you one of the lengthiest Weekly Reloaded editions :P Apart from the usual Demo Reviews, Movie Reviews and Map Reviews, we have come up with a new sub-section "Communities Info" giving you updates regarding the various national communities. Also, this week features an in-depth and insightful Interview with our beloved CEO faker, who not only gives an insight into the present system of XJ but also goes ahead to reveal the future plans as well. The Rumors section has a surprise as well. So, just stay tuned and enjoy the read!

Very nice! He continues to polish his run on the map and make it all the more difficult for his successors to improve the existing World Record What does mean "polish" ?:D And there should be also "makes", Am I right?:P

@Faker Its been a while since we've spoken and for that I am truly saddened. There was a lot of things you mentioned in your interview that have been said many times before, but maybe not as well as you have worded them. I appreciate you doing this interview to really show where you stand in this community, especially for those of the new comers who may not have been around when you were extremely active. I am 100% besides you on how it is to feel disappointed or relieved. Whether it was good or bad, you are right. The adventure we shared together over the years was really fun. If I could go back in time to change a few things I would, but at the same time XJ is what is because of its Staff. So on a side note everyone who is currently involved or has been in the past with XJ, keep on chopping away at XJ. Your making it the great thing it is. Also props to mover. His short time here is certainly showing.

Aetius , there is too much , how to say "smart" sentences in every weekly . Dude , this is international community and there are many guys who don't understand english that much ... You're not a real journalist. Keep it simple with simple words. Just advice ;)

And about the other thing you pointed out, try reading it in this way: [blockquote]He continues to[/blockquote] (Present Continuous Tense) includes two (sub) actions viz. [blockquote]polish his run on the map[/blockquote] and [blockquote]make it all the more difficult...[/blockquote] in Simple Present Tense joined by the conjunction [blockquote]and[/blockquote]. So, if it was "makes" there would have been a tense-mismatch in the sentence construction. I still think I'm not wrong. @ c0ncode, kyser and memories I think the language is not too hard to understand. I have pretty much limited the "flowery" words to a bare minimum. However, if you could point out the "not simple" parts of the Weekly, it'd be of great help. I'd know where to check myself and keep it as simple as possible next time onwards. And ya.. I do have to keep in mind that its a front page weekly and not a "forum post". So, the urban lingo and common day-to-day expressions couldn't be used here. @ All those who think faker's Interview was long I have seen more than 80% of the users whining about the fact the admins keep themselves aloof from the normal users and all they talk about is "new changes are coming" and never giving any idea of "what exact changes" are gonna come. This time, since [b]faker[/b] got a chance to speak his heart out about his beloved nurtured community, I think you should concentrate more on the feel of the Interview rather than the length. Its just an earnest request. [/i]

Good interview - vivid, informative and thought provoking. After that 8ball1 i'view (which had pretty smart elements), this definitely ranked high. (offtop: thought of to say something, it kinda goes like this. Enough of casual/superficial-level conversations "termed as" interviews on xj. We should do i'views like this, it doesn't matter whether they are appearing weekly/fortnightly, but when they are presented and addressed before the general media - they should be like this. I have been tired of seeing questions like "pepsi or coke?", makes no sense to me. Thanx for providing us with a good piece of work) GJ WT.

aetius i like your style of writing a weekly people have to unterstand that this is an international community. therefore the main language is english. im not 12 years old. i want to read texts that are written in a formal and serious style at least on the front page. so keep your style and make me happy :D

A3TIUS, i think there is a big difference betwen using a kind of language that all members can understand (there a lots of people here who's english skills are not that good) and beeing profesional. Now, what lagster says in that quote is that weekly's were bad writen, what i meant was just to use simple words and not complicated tenses that Imo makes it look impersonal and boring. I just think you can make the weekly's look professional with out using complicated sentences.

@A3TIUS English is a very broad language with many interpretations. If you want to be safe be more literal. If you think members will understand don't be afraid to test those waters. Clearly, many people didn't understand that particular phrase, and if I may add, it was kind of written poorly. The sentence, not the weekly mind you.

[i]@ Memories Actually, its pretty tough to guess what "sentences" would be understood by the members as a whole. With a wide range of nationalities and corresponding levels of understanding English, it really becomes difficult to choose the "perfect" words. Sometimes, lame words and expressions (imo) appear tough to people and sometimes hard expressions (imo) appear lame to people. However, there's only one possible solution to this problem. I have to study the trends. And for that, I really need the kind cooperation from all the members. Just take a min and point out what expressions you think could be simplified. That way I can get an idea of what "goes" with the mass of the community. Anyways, thanx for pointing it out. I really appreciate it :) @ Fire Perfect words again. I'd keep it in mind. Btw you dont have to be diplomatic with me. I know you mean good :)[/i]

@ Memories XJ is English related site and if some don't understand English properly, it's not A3TIUS' fault. Either learn English or stop criticizing the expressions - there are dictionaries for certain, jumpers obviously have a plenty of time to spend, so why not to spend 1 hour translating it and improving your skill then?
