I have noticed so many changes it’s getting to be ridiculous. First it starts off with blind admins who are too careless to actually do anything. Demo admins or shall I say demo admin continue to disappoint me. Just having Vee do releases doesn’t really cut it. Whoever disagrees is either ignorant or is just too blind to understand anything. The rules are in definite need of change, I’m sick and tired of seeing perfectly fine demos get denied because a ct joined for like 2 seconds. I know that rules are rules (I should definitely know this much) but regardless if rules aren’t changed and admins don’t change how their attitudes are. You are going to notice a significant change in the members there. As I stated earlier, please listen to this warning, or this will happen. People will continue to leave and will not record anymore, they will continue to flame and be a nuisance to every admin at XJ. This is all something you can avoid by changing your attitudes. I know I may not be the one person you want to hear this from, but it is inevitable. The forums I have also noticed a significant change, I rarely see people warned (well I do see them warned but it happens way too late). Note: On behalf of all the demo admins, and as faker has already said, we would like to apologize for the long delay to launch this release, but we have great plans for the near future. I saw this today, and thought to myself. Are they serious…this again?? I see a near future in ruins if things don’t change. I know I’ve done fucked up things, I’ve been a nuisance, I’ve done things that weren’t necessary, but that isn’t important now. XJ HAS TO CHANGE. well written, pLaguE, i agree with you to 100%. like pizza^'s demo, I changed name, wrote /ct then /spec in like 0.3 seconds and his demo got denied because of this, i wasnt even close to him so it didnt affect his run at all.. if these rules remains XJ wont have any recorders at all in about a year, people would keep flaming and then stop visiting XJ. these rules digs XJs own grave, the community will die. Btw I just want to say, I'm capable of producing that time again and that isn't the entire point of all this.. I spent a few hours doing that, I record for the entertainment of others (and a little for myself, but recording for XJ is more frustrating than fun) just to have that demo denied for such a minor reason.. it's a slap in the face to me, and I'm sure any other recorder who had this happen to them would be saying the same shit. I'd just rather we get this rule tweaked, or removed so it doesn't happen to others in the future. As we all like to watch world records and enjoy seeing them get improved. <3 (btw Vee, I hope you realize I'm not flaming - I'm just voicing my opinion and trying to start a public discussion)

wasnt there a wr demo from keltA in which kafds or someone else was hooking and running around all the time but it wasnt denied? i think vee even mentioned this in the release but nothing happened... so wtf is wrong? and honestly said... due to the fact that i can see uploaded demos, i was kinda shocked when admins said "it takes time blah" but nothing happened and not just improved demos but also strange uploads like "Jumpp.rar" werent removed from the list for several days... doesnt really seem like someone is taking care of those uploaded demos! anyway good job, especially micron! :D [b]Edit by Vee:[/b] Take half the time you took to write this comment to read the note I wrote under the release.

I'm speechless, so amazing release. In particular, I liked the [flag]fi[/flag] [b]Novice[/b]'s and [flag]ar[/flag] [b]juanch0x[/b]'s demos. Good job. I really think the XJ's problem is not the members or the admins, the real problem is that admins and members doesn't have connection. I think we should create a rules together then we could pass cases like this (pizza^'s rockvalley) and everyone would be happy.

Ye.... xj starts being so annoying... 1-st : Not that I am jelous but it's still no point of xj while VIP's, cup winners and admins(who tell others the submit demo list) have the right of seeing the upcoming releases. XJ doesnt anymore promovate new recordholders so on. You see , you can say that it's your fault that you are too n00b to stand the competition. Ok. Let's bring facts so as you understand. I just thought of not mentioning about this but XJ turned from a "friendly peacefull community" to a "who has money has VIP has authority can beat wr be4 rls". This is a thing you should take into consideration. Believe me , I met jumpers much more skillfull than some of the recordholders right here, and asked them :WHY dont you record a demo on xj? Answer: "VIPS. What's the sense of making a wr when I know it will be taken be4 the release". "why uploading a wr to xj when it will disappear before the release and everybody will look at me like "heh .. looser" ." Be serious. Get rid of these VIP's and stupid cup winners vips because it really makes this community worse. Believe me , my viewpoint is correct, nobody wants more recording because of some stupid stuff like "DEMO CONTAINING no steam id" or "CT alive!" or even those lj releases from the past and top 50 or how much it was. One more thing to add to make myself fully clear 2 everybody. Dont take my comment as a provokation, I try just to help this community. In the past when there were no vips people were waiting for rls much more excited. Now we know what demos will be4 the release.It works that way : vip says to a few persons what demos will be and those tell others and so it goes. Now lets take a very skilled player , NAPZ. Ask yourself why he has only 1 wr and why you havent seen him in rls for a pretty long time. There are more examples like this , but I dont wanna start discussions here. I said all these because i saw some comments about rules on xj and think it's time for changes and everybody should say his opinion.

Some thoughts: 1. The "ct alive" rule. From my perspective the rule itself is good and absolutely needed, spectators are non-essential when it comes to recording kreedz world record demos, after all this is a single player competition. Other CTs alive in a record demo might not only disturb the viewers, it also does cause unnecessary work (which will most likely delay the releases once again) when it comes to checking the demos, as the demo admins need to review the demo from all different perspectives to make sure the other players didn't alter the actual run. However, things are not only black and white in this world. In some marginal cases, like pizza's, it might seem absolutely incomprehensible that such a demo gets denied for such 0,5 seconds, and I got to admit that I would be frustraded and probably even as angry about the rule as most of you guys are at the moment. However, the main problem is consistency. If we start to do one exception, other people will plead on that exception and want to get an exception for their case as well. This goes on and on and reduces the whole rule, which is still a good one and needed, to absurdity. Anyway, I believe, that our main objective as official kreedz community is to offer world record demo downloads, as long as they are legt and support the recorders in their attempt to do amazing runs as good as possible - and not to make sure, the demos withstand to all of our pretty extended demo rules (esp. the minor ones). Therefore I will sit together with our admin team and discuss this regard again, I'm pretty confident that we will find a better and fair balance when it comes to such cases in the future. However, this will only work if you - the players - won't abuse it (several specs hooking around, or friends spectating moveable objects to be in the right spot for a run to start). If you invite your friends to your game please ask them to spec, if they are afk remove them from the server for the meantime. This way things could go hand in hand and it would save both sides lots of trouble and anger. - 2. The VIP function: First of all, I appreciate that users like you (StarWars) think about such things and try to improve the situation for everyone. However, there are several logical and factual errors in your text, which I will try to point out as well as answering to your whole criticism. First of all I got to mention that the feedback about the VIP function (to see the uploaded demos) was, when it got implemented, a very positive one (even from those who weren't donators yet, but liked the idea). It never caused any big trouble except for a few times when people did abuse it; which were most likely the cupwinners because they didn't care about their rights as much as the real donators. However, I tend to agree to you in this regard (even though most of my fellow admins don't and fear that people will stop playing cups if we reduce the prizes): Cupwinners shouldn't be able to win VIP privileges that work on the website, furthermore they should - at least in my opinion - get longer periods of VIP on all of our gameservers (for example). Other than that, we can't be 100% sure people don't abuse the function, that's right. But regarding this "problem", there are 2 big things you should consider: 1. Even without this function you could get in "informational" advantage. If peoples steam profile isn't private and you have them in friends (or some of your friends do), you will most likely see who is playing which map on his listenserver (to record) and who not. At times, other people spectate and tell their friends that "xxx" just made an amazing record... word spreads and it will be basically just the same effect. 2. Even more important: does it really make a difference to know a demo was broken in a particular time? You still need to "react" and beat "your map" back (if you can), even if you got that information. Also seeing the time doesn't necessarily tell you how the run was achieved or which shortcut was used. So whats the difference if your record is broken before or after a newspost? Having your name for 1-2 days on the front page with a time that was beaten 30 minutes after the release (hypothetical)? Would that make you look better than being in the extended newspost under "demo improved? I highly doubt that to be honest. Also, these donations do help us paying the bills for our servers and making this community happen, that's why we want to give back to our donators and contributors and offer them a little bit more comfort (not an advantage) when they use our site. Also... did you realize most of our donators aren't even recording demos at all? Thanks faker, I appreciate that. Just a small tweak to the rule would be enough - granting exceptions for minor things and denying for things like having people LJing during your run or similar stuff as you pointed out. Maybe set specific circumstances which would grant an exception therefore people won't be confused. Hopefully you guys go through with it, and I'll be looking forward to what changes you guys bring!

And what about people that doesn't have any world records? For them it may be important to see their nicks in the front page, even if it's not for long. Imagine that someone is having very hard time to get his first wr, for example kz_xj_mountez. Considering the high standards nowadays, it really isn't an easy job. So, he's been trying hard for months to beat this amazing wr, and after all he finally succeeds. He improved the current record with only few hundredths, but it's still a good job. Then, he's at the peak of his happiness, waiting impatiently for the release, ready to see his nick there for the first time, after such a long and tiring time. But the rumors that this exact one record was beaten spread incredibly fast and eventually gets to [flag]ar[/flag]Chasquido, who quietly decides to take his record back (and ofcourse he has the right to do that, so we can't blame him). After some time, he manage to beat it with a whole one second, and our guy is fucked up. But he doesn't know that yet, because he's in school still waiting for the release. He gets home very excited and immediately checks out Xtreme-Jumps.eu, thinking about his world record all the time. He sees there's a release and he's so close to have a heart attack, but his demo isn't there. He's sad and disappointed, with his eyes full of tears, because he realised that all his efforts were pointless. That would be really unfair in my opinion... It always happens that I've got a lot of messages from people congratulating me, right after I submitted the wr(s). And what if I want to keep them secret untill the release, in order to surprise a friend of mine or something like that? I personally don't care much, but still I understand [flag]md[/flag]StarWars*1's point of view.

Exceptions can always be made in reasonable cases such as Pizza. The solution is that the admins can deny exceptions under any circumstance. So if an exception is made for Pizza's demo (which seems reasonable) and then later someone asks for an exception in a less reasonable case, simply deny them the exception because: 1) Pizza's demo was the first (or one of the first) demos with this rule affecting it, and it has now been publicly discussed. Therefore it has set a precedent that everyone should now know. There is no excuse to break the rule any longer. If you choose to have people your server, you do so at your own risk. 2) The only way another reasonable exception could be granted is if there is some new unforeseen issue, or variation of the issue that can understandably have been shown to be unforeseeable. 3) Finally, admins can deny that someone's exceptional for really any reason they want. That is their ultimate power, but I really don't think the demo admins are unreasonable people who would abuse that power. They love the community and want to see records like anyone else. In the very rare cause of an abusive admin, they will eventually be removed/replaced through other avenues and whatever demos were unfairly rejected can then be accepted.

Also, I generally feel that ignorance of the rules is a rather poor excuse for an exception. If I were recording a WR demo, I would make absolutely sure there was no possibility of any of the rules being broken. I wouldn't allow anyone into my listen server, I would record solo, I would use the XJ AMXX pack with no other plugins, etc. If you choose to be careless then you are taking a risk. Maybe the admins will be forgiving, maybe they won't. It is up to you to ensure that this won't happen in the first place. I just think that up until now, the rules have not been strictly enforced, so when you start enforcing them there are always going to be cases like this. So I think granting a few reasonable exceptions is in order, but after that, the rules are the rules and ignorance is no excuse.

You know what? Let's take as an example soccer , or so to say football. It's a pretty old sport , there are SO much money involved right there and still the referees and FIFA isn't always strict. Why? Because they all know HOW HARD , how difficult , how much time and skills it requires to have a chance to score , how difficult is training very hard and how dissapointed players are when they are only 1 cm offside and the referee wistles. That's why they are more permissive with players. What's why Maradonna in his carrier scored a goal with his hand one time and that's why Luis Fabiano scored a beautiful goals helping himself a lil bit with his hand and referees didnt pay attention to this? @cAzh0r : The fact is that it was reported earlier this week there were some suspicious demo(s). And you find a unknown newcomer on one of the hardest maps (cg_d2block_h) so I was just wondering ... But since it's in the release, I think it's perfectly clear :) I was just surprise (in a good way in fact) ! It's not because I've pointed to newcomers from Romania or Moldova that I particulary have something, in a bad way, against then ... Just saying.
