Counter-strike 1.6 update news

As you all know, last week valve release an update to counter-strike 1.6, unfortunately this caused a lot of errors for almost everybody and sadly due to this we will have to suspend submitting demos and suggest you don't record until we can sort out some of these problems as it could cause a lot of illegal demos and various other problems, this also includes "Leggie's monthly challenge" which will be delayed until 14/3/2013.

Any demos submitted prior to this news post will be checked as normal however should we find any irregularities they will be denied.

We apologize for any inconvenience but we feel this is necessary, we hope to post a more detailed statement on the matter within 2 weeks.

It's sad that the update had such major impact to our beloved climbing. I'm glad that you guys finally made the statement and made things clear. Hopefully in matter of time a fix is found and we can all go back to normal.

Can you please start warning the Chinese. I wrote something and got a month comment ban for it, since then in the comments and in the chatbox they continue to break the rules and receive no punishment. Glad its my attitude that is the problem and nothing to do with the admins picking and choosing who they want to warn/ban

it took you some time to post this only to tell us that a fix for the current(recording) situation might come in the next 2 weeks. i hope you`ll find a good solution to this problem without being forced to reset the records page. Guys, here's a way to get your "old" cs back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1gFLaa2AHg&list=LLhhTU4b0-K06vRhTY58tPtg I've done it myself and it works. if you get any issue with HW.dll or any other files (if cs updates after you've copied this, then just copy the files that gives you the error again and it should work just fine. Did for me at least.

oh my... so much drama around it. Updates just messed with game configuration, thats all, not the game itself. Find a way to fix your fps, sens (raw input), get used to new game path and your cs will be just the same as before. Closing demo submission is not really necessary if you consider what are those updates were actually about... and rolling back to older cs files is obviously not a good permanent solution at all.

Maybe not, depends on how long they'll be working, but for now, it's a great way to get it back to the way it used to be. It seems like the majority is against this update so you'll never know whats going to happen. Even tho around 30,000 signed a petition against the 1.6 update (from 1.5 mainly because of the delay on the awp).

When valve will fix all this problems so i can turn my steam on and play CS without "finding a way to fix my fps and sene" today i turned on my CS and all is messed up same like it was when update was released. If they officialy dont fix that i will never play CS again, becouse i dont want to finding ways becouse im valves programer i payed money for this shit and only thing i can do is click the CS icon. This is pure lamenes of valve, ruining up the game we payed to play, so lame, so unprofessional, and rude.

Ye, valve messed up big time, but update roll back is very unlikely, no matter how many people against it. If they would care about petition in this particular case - roll back would be done a long time ago already. Now they are just taking their time to fix all this mess. Also people who claim lj/bhop is different clearly have configuration issues, because there are no signs of any game motion physics related changes in latest updates. Personally I have cs on 4 different systems with different OS's hardware, all of them work just fine after updates and cs gameplay is exactly the same.

Nah, mate. They added a couple of commands which has an huge impact if you don't know how to change them. 1. m_rawinput 0 uses old system for mouse movement. m_rawinput 1 uses low-latency mouse movement directly from the mouse, with no acceleration values m_customaccel 1 adds acceleration to mouse movement (if m_rawinput is set to 0) If you want previous mouse movement before the update use these m_rawinput 0 m_customaccel 0 2.If you have FPS higher then 100, even tho fps_max is 100, try adding this command to your config: gl_vsync "0"

Exactly my point - its all about configuration changes and issues, no impact on the game itself. Both mouse acceleration and fps could also be manipulated before latest updates, to achieve the very same gameplay differences and this "huge impact". ... well, all that apart from game start up troubles obviously

1、open your liblist.gam with notepad, find the "gamedll" line , change "dll\mp.dll" into "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll". It can fix your plugin problem! 2、edit your uq_jumpstats.sma , find "fps_max 101", change it to "fps_max 99.5" . It can fix your fps problem. After that , fps is between 99 to 100 3、gl_vsync 0 now your Version 5956 cs1.6 is the same as Version 4554. Closing demo submission is not really necessary....
