Rules Update 2013 + Nickchanges
Hey everyone,
two recurring and recent problems in our community made it necessary to update the website rules and formulate better and more precise rules for these matters of fact.
1. Nickchanges
A lot of people were asking about nickchanges recently. DB problems made it necessary to disable nickchanges in our CMS, furthermore we don't want to encourage nickchanges too much in general, as it should be the rare exception anyway and we don't want to encourage our users to change their identity - rather work on it!
As an one time exception we are going to grant every user, who is registered for longer than 6 months, a single nickchange during the next 14 days (if the desired nick is fairly reasonable and doesn't include special chars).
Make sure the preferable nickname you request is not already in use, via the search form.
2. Flaming and Cheataccusations or -suspicions
During the last few months the number negative comments, flames and cheataccusations towards our demo staff, anti cheat and the new record holders had an alarming growth. Even though we were pretty generous with these kind of comments until now, especially since we don't want to restrict the freedom of speech, that is going to change drastically in the future. Unfortunately this is necessary to keep up the spirit of the community, which seems to get more and more unfriendly during the last few weeks and months.
If you want to express your opinion or cheat suspicion, we are still offering a special forum for that: The Chopping Block. Posts outside of that forum will not be tolerated any longer and will be deleted and punished with a warning or commentban.
Furthermore a few smaller, textual, changes were applied to the Rules page.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Unfortunately this was necessary.
