But when LEWLY picks a map, you can bet all your money that he will take it. No matter whats the name beside the WR, what time or how old the WR is. When I spotted LEWLY on lan, trying this map, I knew he's gonna beat it but what I didn't know how easily he can beat it. There were a few places, where LEWLY could have been faster but so what, there is no such thing as perfection and yet he owned the map with almost 2 seconds of improvement.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]2.[/b] [flag]ro[/flag] [b]cahz0r kz_xj_caseblock_h done in [timer]8869| 02:53.57[/timer][/b]\\r\\n\\r\\nDo you remember this ? [b]ROTW #82 - cahz0r on kz_xj_caseblock_h[/b] Well, I do and I'm still impressed by that run but what cahz0r performed this time is beyond my philosophy yet you can notice a few small rooms for improvement. But it doesnt change anything. But I understand HDS's point and now I don't even mind these old jumps because HDS raised them to a brand new level. And that's what MovieMaking is all about. Improvisation, creativity, sense, art. In my eyes this is what matters. Not how difficult or old the jumps are. Great job !\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n

This is more than just a movie to me. It brings me memories from my KZ beginning and ever since I saw this video, I wanted to be a LJer just like him. So powerful yet gentle. So old yet still fresh. What changed about this community over the years in your eyes ?\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]ee[/flag] [b][i]spr1n[/i][/b]: when I started playing kz, sites like kzmaps and later XJ were just sources of new maps for people like me, while socializing happend mostly on public servers. It was more personal, everyone knew everyone, or at least somebody who knew the rest. KZ has grown large, which is very good, but it became less personal... I hope you know what I mean. Its becoming more about about records and achievements rather about experience itself is what bothers me.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]cz[/flag] [b][i]PU9maker[/i][/b]: I see, Its a classic answer from an oldschoolers :] You also are an admin for a long time. [b]faker[/b] was kind enough to teach me a lot of stuff along with other admins, but I had to quit after a while. Then Several years ago [b]CyclopP[/b] asked me to join mapcheck team, which is a lot of fun, since I really enjoy bugs, shourtcuts and exploring new maps in general. Unfortunately I've been quite busy lately, so I had to quit mapcheck team and my contribution limited just with some server related and other minor stuff.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]cz[/flag] [b][i]PU9maker[/i][/b]: speaking of shortcuts. kz_cg_wigbl0ck - You probably isolated this map for yourself and yourself only. 3 jump bugs in a row, correct ?! No wonder you were called a cheater haha ^^ How long had you been trying to beat it ? Do you have any advice how to do it or something helpful to share ?\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]ee[/flag] [b][i]spr1n[/i][/b]: hehe it was very ambitious to try that map with 3 jumpbugs at that time, but I already got into a good shape making redrock with 2x prior to that and even before many years of fooling around doing random edgebugs and jumpbugs. Actually there are are some people who can beat that record, I know 3 of them who could, not sure about their current progress though. I don't mind if someone figures out how to optimize JB success and beats that demo. Personally I was lucky enough to know Numb who gave me a huge push in this, even though I had to figure most things by myself. I guess there are not many people interested in doing that... so doing a lot of jumpbugs is or was a myth for some of them. Calling a cheater ones who succeeds is easier, rather than believe there is a lot/some of stuff you can actually learn about about stuff. I see that happens a lot lately on XJ.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]cz[/flag] [b][i]PU9maker[/i][/b]: I think you are safe :] In my opinion this map will stay with you till the end of XJ. What do you think about the recent cheating escapade ? Nokkan, Lolz. People whom I would never think about as cheaters. It's so sad. Do you think its possible to eradicate all of them ?\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]ee[/flag] [b][i]spr1n[/i][/b]: It certainly sad that people choose that path, I dont think there are any justifications for cheating. Even if people believe they have good reasons to do that, they forget its still a bad solution and there are other ways around. Games are made for fun and cheating basically destroys this concept...\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]cz[/flag] [b][i]PU9maker[/i][/b]: Yes, I couldn't agree more but let's be realistic, its never gonna stop.. Have you ever felt addicted to KZ ? There is actually a thin line between gaming for fun and gaming as a lifestyle. Especially teenagers have these tendencies to become kind of addicted.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]ee[/flag] [b][i]spr1n[/i][/b]: There were short episodes, at the time when I tried to record some records with jumpbugs namely. Games can be addictive, especially if you have a lot of spare time or bad time management. There is always a line, but it can vary for different people I guess. Bottom line it should not overcome real life. If one wants to struggle with his addiction, he just should occupy him with some regular activity. At least thats what I do, not on purpose though I have to admit :D\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]cz[/flag] [b][i]PU9maker[/i][/b]: Haha thats a good answer ! :) Did you completely quit KZ ? Or is it possible to see you on a public server from time to time ? Is there even a slightest chance to see you in a WR release ever again ? I played not for achievements, so I doubt there will be a comeback. Im terrible at recording because I never have the patience to dedicate time to train my skills after constant breaks. So I would give some advices about jumpbugs in case someone interested or just want to learn it. Keep your fps at 100.0 at all times with no drops. Read other information in XJ Tutorial section. Some information maybe obvious or trivial, but figuring out what some of it does and in what way it actually affects JB performance is most important part. \\r\\n\\r\\n[i]I've been thinking about how to improve Xtreme-Jumps and one idea came to mind. I've read many comments, interviews and it seems like people miss one thing. Knowing each other a little bit more. So my idea is that you - XJ members will write a description about yourself. How old are you, where are you from, what do you do for fun, if you have a job, what do you do for a living, the reason why did you chose this carrer path etc. Furthermore, some interesting stories from you childhood, current life, post a photo of yourself, post a photo of your house, apartment, neighbourhood, from your vacation simply whatever you find worthy.
