We thought this could be a great opportunity for us to bond with you guys, the ones who keep this community alive. We feel that you have the right to know what's going on around the website and community you spend many hours for.

So without further ado, here are some things we are working on at the moment, things you should be able seeing in the near future.

Good thing, communicate is the key ! :) "The XJ's monthly challenge, as well as the previous series, didn't really have success since the day they started." It had, the problem was that the record were pretty hard to beat for most of us; personally, I was waiting a map that I like to try. But even if we were not trying it was a pleasure to watch the demo, it was something more talented than normally! I want to add that release are the most important things in XJ; map release, ROTW...etc are all about records. I do think that 1 release every week should be the requirement. Even 3 demo is enought, it's even better for recorders. I mean, yeah it's great to see a bunch of demo released but, come on, which recorder like to be conceal in 30 demo ? And that is really too much to watch in a row for most of the people. People tends to watch the best demo only, if there are 5 demo it would make the mapper or player more rewarded. Anyways, that was just a point that I wanted to point out and that is really important for me (and not only me I think). However, you are already doing a great job, keep going and XJ will be better than ever !

just to add on to this. some of the monthly challenge maps were: canals, mountez, cargo, prochallenge_longjump, cliffez, chinablock_ez, etc. maps that are out of reach for majority of the playerbase so it kinda makes sense that only 1-2 people sent in demos. granted leggie was picking most of the previous maps/maps he wanted to see beat but ya

What exactly would a new admin have to do? Lowering the standards on kz maps again? I'd rather see to higher them again, because the quality really has gone down. Why don't you open a map contest for a new longjumps map? This would surely bring some fresh wind into the forums.

Need a Prochallenge map contest like in the old days ...

Well i wanted to share my opinion about the whole mapping thing.I mean there is always a strong accent on environment and looks but many of the released maps have very boring jumps and often are too big to keep a player attracted, I mean common.. the most popular maps here on xj probably have lack of atmosphere and they are short buy hell they are fun to play and offer possibilites to record them again and again. So why not putting a bigger accent on the jumps and asking how often will be the map recorded instead of how will the map look?

I agree with hitmanz.. too many fancy maps but boring jumps = boring to watch

I think these "What's going on" updates will be happily received. Great way to keep the community informed! I'm really hoping for some shorter maps to appear here on XJ soon. 48 out of 648 maps are less than 1 min :/
