UPDATE: New fix for beta-locked maps

By Nannou·
Hello Community

About eight months ago we made a news post that can be found here which announced the return of kz_abstract_plane back into the playable map pool. It was the 2nd map following kz_emblem that mapper Timmycakes had fixed for us by recompiling his original .rmf -which was the only known fix for it at the time.

Fast forward to present day; we learned that this recompiling method is indeed not the only method to correcting the issue, which brings us to some really fantastic news for the community. From here forward, all players, regardless of which Counter-Strike client they run, will be able to play and record demos for all the previously beta-locked maps in our database.

Xtreme-Jumps has updated the download files for these maps and you no longer need to be running CS Beta to play them. This means no more client crashes, and it also means the return of these maps to all public servers who choose to update. If you are running the non-beta CS client, be sure to delete the old versions of your maps to ensure against any system conflict.

The complete list of maps to be restored effective immediately:

kz_icemountain
kz_kzlv_wanderer
kz_peak_b01
kz_peak_b02
kz_pit
kz_stealthhangar
kz_tomorrow

Xtreme-Jumps will still continue to accept demos from any player who chooses to continue playing on CS Beta.

Regards, XJ

well its nice that you found the fix, but its not nice that you are not telling us what the real fix is.

I'd rather not explain you how to fix the problem, because it's nothing but cheating. And if I explain you how everything works, it may cause either bad or good things to happen. I don't want to make it hard for myself as a demochecker, because I never know anyone's intenstions, no hard feelings. Anyways, I can prevent you from having such problems. Before compiling a map, simply save it in .map but .rfm in jack hammer . That will help.

well but thats how the creative site works. by sharing and caring with problem solutions. its the same thing which you already had done in the past with the mappers. by not taking care of them. by leaving them without honoring them and their works. btw cheating excuse doesn't count since it its widely known that you can still cheat with ripent.
