Hey everyone,

First of all, merry christmas!

Today, we're publishing the results of the Just Beat It - Christmas Challenge:

Both of them won 1 month VIP gold and, of course, their prizemoney!

Additionally to the results, we're happy to announce an update to this challenge:

Since bkz_goldbhop didn't get beat (yet?), our kind donator ropz wished the challenge to continue until new notice from him!
Another old member of XJ, elfeN, also added €50 to the prizepool, which is now €300 and for a single map!

After watching the demo on cliffez i have to say that LEWLY was a speedy MONSTER! Toff managed to beat lewly by 0.69 seconds but he had crazy combos in that demo...and i didn't remember lewly having so many combos like toff did! anyway that uptime on toff's demo! TOFF you are a BEAST! Congrats once again TOFF!

If you could download the first demo of his, he literally fails 1.22-1.23 run towards the end, so no, even according to toff, this was the easiest of the three wrs.

Feels so good to me to see the name Just Beat It (which I came up with on kzsk.sk back in 2014 for this exact type of competition) being mentioned on XJ’s newspage. Back in the days I was myself purchasing Steam keys for random games as a reward for each edition. It was popular but it didn’t survive the test of time, just like the community itself. To see it now have a €750+ reward is next level! Thanks (I believe it was PU9maker?) for initiating it here on XJ. I’m actually shocked to see kz_cliffez got beaten, as when I saw the previous demo I thought that is impossible, lol. Can’t wait for goldbhop. Special thanks to ropzie. I know im a bit annoying but i would really appreciate if someone could make a battle movie between both patchoulis xtremeblock demos.. for some reason it seems more impressive the previous wr than this one. Maybe my eyes are getting blind dunno... About cliffez, great demo toff, sick combos u made there. Still 1.22 possible for you if u some day decide to geek it. Hope someone could beat goldbhop with some new combo/skip and not only a same and faster run.

I actually agree, I thought the old xtremeblock seemed faster, but you know, it's not about what is perceived, it is about how fast you really are. zhady is a great example of a player who would beat countless of great records and actually seem a lot slower. You might recall a guy like novice, a0ke, micron and fikon - Guys who would seem extra fast on the micro, than other guys, but perhaps, their mousemovement, actually just made it to look so. Always thought Brians cellblock seemed a lot faster than zhady, but somehow he could shave off seconds. For me, style is important, but the speed itself, the contiunuity is importan'or.

Totally. I remember an old conversation with K3G where he told me about tarGet's 01.20 demo of wsp_valleyclimb, superb micros, that demo looks so fast.. Even today.

Does anyone know why patchoulis wr is getting little to no respect in this comment section? beating xtremeblock with 2 seconds is damn impressive if you ask me at least, and it's obviously the better demo of the two anyway... I remember whenever that map was getting beat by someone like koukouz or lewly, XJ would nearly explode and give the jumpers an insane amount of respect. I'm just gonna assume it's because people think it's cheated or something like that, since there's already a few people that thinks the demo seems fishy for some reason. Anyway GJ patchouli! You definitely deserve the 250 euros for that WR!

Oh so it's like a racist thing? Makes sense then. The only guy that comes to mind whenever I think of Chinese cheaters is Lynn, so I don't think it's because of that. Compare that to the amount of Danes that cheated in the past: Tess, Siw, NOEL, niken, acquilaen, NAPZ (myself). 6 people! That's pretty much every Dane that has played KZ. Shame on all of us for fucking up the Danish reputation. Yet if anyone one us were to beat the xtremeblock WR today, people would go down on their knees and get ready to blow us off. With the exception of Tess and siw of course, oh and NOEL, niken and acquilaen too probably, so yeah.
