Mapping Contest

Hi guys,

we decided to start over with another Mapping contest.

The theme this time is: A nice Cupmap

All mappers who want to participate plz post a Comment or MSG me in IRC.

Mappers in the contest: wAri, solid, rad0n, Chrizzy, bl00d_d00d, pLANE, eiRa, h1m1, tenub, Simen.007, GeMarK, stinnZ

You have 32 days to design and submit your Map, the Deadline is the 20. June 2006

The jury will be the whole XJ Crew. If the maps are accepted, they will get the kz_ Tag, too.

What do u ment by this ? - Themes: All Themes are allowed but it has to be optimized for Cups

It means that the Map must be playable in Cups and must be optimized for Cups. How u integrate this feature in your maps is your choice. An example for a Map that isnt optimized for cups is kz_cg_lostcastle (moving stones.) Examples for Cupoptimized maps are kz_man_climbrace or xtj_blockrace_b01

The kz_ Tag and the fame :D And perhaps a BNC, i have to ask OddY about that. We all dont earn money for our job, so its hard to offer prices :D

The best cup map would be one, which is twice in one map Oo. I mean, that the players do not walk the same way, but the same ^^ (nicht den selben, aber den gleichen weg, so that they`d meet at end)

Some things you should think of if you choose to build your map with two climb routes: - How does this affect the FPS? The FPS should be VERY high so that the map can be played by everyone. - Both players should be able to see each other every once in awhile so they know if they must climb faster to be able to win or if they can climb slowly because they're far ahead. - Both routes MUST be identical. There must be no advantages in any of the ways. Don't make them mirrored either, just build one route and then copy it.

you can send it then as a custom map in. When you made a second route they can share but the mapper decided it.

All maps that are good enough will get the kz_ tag ofc. Johnny Blaze: hard to realise this, and some people will vote cause they know one mapper better than the others. Our mapping team got a lot of experience checking maps and stuff ;)

if someone wants to send me the maps to test, you can. since i am an average jumper, i can test the maps to make sure they are "jumpable" by the non-demo holders.

ffs :( I have problems with my computer again.. So i cant start mapping yet :/ hopefully it will get fixed over the weekend, i might start mapping on my portable computer.. :)
