Very good demos all! sh4rk are a new upcomer? I think so dude. Wow minimountain beaten with 3 seconds! Crazy bob! I love this sentence, esp. by faker: "Nice demos. Haven't seen one of them yet. *downloading* " Almost thought that faker could see demos, without even watching them!

29/03/2007 13:04:00

By the way, welcome back Dujez, long time no see!

gj Mooney, sh4rk and Z0ck3rOO7 :P ofc all others too

29/03/2007 19:30:00

yeah there is a little timerbug on minimountain, but there's lots of demos with timerbugs and noone cares

29/03/2007 19:55:00

Nobody of you guys seem to understand what a timerbug is about. EVERY demos has a time shift (difference of the _REAL_ time and what the ingame timer shows) of 1-2 seconds. A little example with kz_minimountain: DHT-'s old demo (with a low viewdemo time) got a timeshift of 1,1 aka 1 second. Mooney's demo (with a high viewdemo time, which could mean that it is timerbugged) got a timeshift of 2,9 aka 2 seconds. 2 seconds is still a normal timeshift and no timerbug (for maps under 2 minutes). The number behind the , (2,9) doesn't matter at all because the timer doesn't know if it's 2,000001 or 2,99999999. He'll show 2 anyway. Another example: Mooney submitted a demo on kz_boulder_b01 long time ago (I think it was 05:37). It had a high viewdemo time (1xx:xx) and a timeshift of 10 seconds (=timerbug on such a small/average map) and wasn't accepted therefore. I know this is pretty confusing and complex to understand (they asked me to help them with these demos yesterday, that's why I'm informed), but please stop complaining/flaming unless you know the facts or have understood what a timerbug is about :x

29/03/2007 20:52:00

I disagree, i like to divide a map in sections and check how long it took to someone to do certain section and compare with mine or someone elses time and I 've rarely seen timeshifts in demos that starts < 60, and I check with my watch demos that start after 60 minutes to see how big the real timerbug is. Your problem faker is that maybe you rely on fps-death to determine timerbugs, and from experience I can tell it is inaccurate(at least public version it is) oddy's old record on aqualand had like 7 seconds timerbug, and a0ke's old demo on parblock(05:37) had a 20 seconds(or 30 can't remember right now) timerbug oh and im not flaming/complaning you had to check hundreds of demos and maybe you missed a couple, anyway i didn't lost a record because of a timerbug so i dont really care.

29/03/2007 22:54:00

imo Mooneys minimountain.dem should be removed. 2 seconds "timerbug" is still too much for a ybershort map like minimountain. ---> veeeery hard to beat w/o using same servertime or maximum timerbug allowed... In this case, simply just way too short map, but its only my opinion :)

30/03/2007 00:52:00

Nice times ALL! m4gdan, cheater! :P dujeSSSSSSSSS!! yo mate, long time no see :) <3 Welcome back Mooney :) I remember you, but you don't remember me ^^ Last time i saw you was 2-3 years ago :E N1 sh4rk.. keep em' coming :) zhady & zocker, stop using h4x FFS :( <3

30/03/2007 00:54:00

forgot 2 say, sorry for DHT's demo, not fair imo but who am i 2 judge ~_~

30/03/2007 02:00:00

nizheradze:
oddy's old record on aqualand had like 7 seconds timerbug, and a0ke's old demo on parblock(05:37) had a 20 seconds(or 30 can't remember right now) timerbug
haha, they definitely hadn't. I still have the files on my harddisc and rechecked them, there are _no_ timerbugs. I guess you measured it wrong/inaccurate with your clock/tool and I can assure you that fps death is working 100% correct. sambb: The thing is that a normal timeshift is a normal timeshift. A timeshift of 2 seconds can happen with low viewdemo times, too (as it happend with DHT's old demo - he had a 1 second timeshift, too). Therefore it would be unfair/not right to remove demos with a normal timeshift just because the viewdemo time is too high (not every demo with high viewdemo times got a timerbug!) Hope you guys understand it better now.

30/03/2007 10:30:00

"there are time shifts of 0,1-1 seconds on small maps (under 2 min)" I read that Mooney had 2,9 timerbug...If u dont think about the 9, it's still a timerbug if we follow; "What is a "timerbug?"" Found another thing to... cg_coldbhop_kimo_0028 -> Realtime: 00:30 Why does it say Realtime 00:30, when its really 1.99 timerbug, and as you said the numbers behind , doesn't count. The record is under 2 minutes, so I don't understand how this demo got removed.

30/03/2007 12:18:00

faker I did my old @ 1 try oO so I can't understand how I got a "bug". and btw.. will be hard 2 beat this minimountain demo cuz of the bug.. maybe I should be uber lame, too.. Leave the server for 2h and then start recing -.-

30/03/2007 13:04:00

cg_coldbhop was a special case because that map is so extremly short and it usually has a timeshift of max. 30 secs (none). 2 seconds timeshift are NO timerbug. That's the definition which was made long time ago. Mooney's demo contains no timerbug therefore. Maybe you think that's unfair, but the rules were set like that long time before because a majority of the admins thought that these limits would make sense. Why do you even discuss with me since I'm no admin anylonger and I don't have to decide what happens to the demo or if the rules need a change and bla bla

30/03/2007 13:21:00

if you ask me this rule is _SHIT_. You shouldn't accept demos which contain a timerbug over 1 second. I don't say this only cause' Mooney did a better time than me... It's unfair overall. The reason: It'll be hard to pwn it back. when the current demo got a timerbug. But yeah, it's senseless to discuss this since XJ won't remove all those demos -.- So "GJ" mooney!

30/03/2007 13:30:00

gj @all shark: nice start :) Z0ck3rOO7: very nice bhop-action! Looking forward to see more demos from you :) greetz regalis

30/03/2007 13:34:00

gj zock

30/03/2007 13:43:00

Why I discussed this with you was because as I see it you've made these decisions. Imagine yourself as a newcomer who finally did a WR, he signs in to Xtreme-jumps and looking at the rules, and he's like hmmm? What is a timerbug? He finds the answer in FAQ. He had 2.9 seconds timerbug on a >2 min map so he deletes his demo. How professional does this look like when the rules isn't true and the only person who knows it is an admin who can say whatever he want... ( I'm not saying that you're doing that. ) Update the goddamn rules so the users know them too and not only 1-2 people.

30/03/2007 14:13:00

DHT-: You still haven't understand it. A timeshift of 1-2 seconds is absolutely normal and can happen on every time (with low viewdemo times, too). It's just because the Kreedz Timecounter doesn't work accurate. So even if the server is running for 5 minutes you never can know if there will be a timeshift of 1-2 seconds or not. If these demos wouldn't be accepted, just imagine what would happen to recording: You just have to have luck and have a run without timeshift. If you have a good run and bad luck - and a timeshift of 1-2 seconds - and your demo won't be accepted (even tho you have had the server running for 5 minutes) you will be very mad, too. That's just sensless.... Believe me, we discussed that topic a lot in the intern and even tho the solution isn't perfect (because the only perfect solution would be to create a new, and better timecounter, and "remake" all the kz_ maps with the new timecounter. but that's just....). And about the rules: If it is really that hard to understand the rules for you they should be changed. I agree on that point. Ima suggest it to stukad and the crew as a friend, but it's their decision now so you better should talk with them, too. peace out

30/03/2007 14:42:00

"If it is really that hard to understand the rules for you they should be changed." It's not hard for me to understand "the rules", I understand every single word about "What is a timerbug?" in FAQ. That's that. I can't understand the rest of the rules tho, because I can't see them.

30/03/2007 16:32:00

GJ all :) For me the best timer is the timer by SoUlFaThEr, you can play 1 hour, 2 or 3 ...= no timerbug. (new rules: use the timer by SoUlFaThEr on all news maps) ;)

04/04/2007 02:23:00

word loty. maybe someone can make a nice timer? :E
