Dogos^: Think of it as 'MSN Messenger'. You dont need to add users or anything to talk with them, just use /query nickname or join a channel which the user is currently on. You can also ask everything related to XJ/kz ( or just any question ) in the main channel (/j Xtreme-jumps) if you got anything to ask about. You can also talk to kz`HoHo^. Thats the biggest reason why you should install it right now, so do it NOW, I said NOOOW!

Other (comment please): I don't have a paypal (no card) so I can't pay + I don't find any of the features usefull tbh, the demo archive is already public, why would I care if I have +v and neither I'd feel cool in the forum. Sorry but I think it's not only me who thinks that way. If I was more dedicated to KZ maybe I'd care for the VIP access @ servers, but I don't play so :P

If we could find serious sponsors we wouldn't need need donations. :D We have a generous sponor for most of the servers, but no room for expanding. A huge amount of the previous donations us used for a cool thing that might be finished soon.

- Don't want to spend money for this kind of hobby - Prizes are too expensive + Don't like the VIP features these problems are caused by each other: the prices are too high and the features are not woth the money tbh - Not enough information on what my money will be used for this is also a huge point why many ppl did not donate. you should exactly show and proof for what you are spending the money. faker, i guess you heared of hoeneß plan to collect 2euro per budget? he says he wants to collect this money to be able to compete with other clubs which have more money but nearly everyone things this money would be used to pay even higher salaries. you should really focus on the transparency of the donation system + involve the donators in certain decisions if you want to spend donation-money on new things for xj.

wow faker, XJ is getting much better in the last time man. but [b]ontopic[/b], of course the main problem is that I don't know what my money would be used for. Since oddyseuss is sponsoring the homepage as far as I know I would guess he earns it. But I'm not sure about it, correct me if I'm wrong of course. In addition to that the VIP features have nothing special to offer for me. But I wouldn't spend something for special features anyway, when I'm spending something it's kinda because I want the community to stay alive. 1. The features dont appeal to me really. The only half decent ones in my eyes would be the demo archive and ability to see the demos uploaded. But anyway a lot of the jumpers hide their demos. Some new features might get more people to donate like mabye, reserved slots for cup playing. Say evertime an admin starts a cup two slots are reserved for donors. But if the two slots dont get filled within a given timelimit then normal players can still play. Mabye even something like map previews for donors. The can download the maps before they are released and try them out. But I dont think a lot of mappers would like that. 2. I would like to know more where my money is going to. Obviously it helps paying for the website but that has happened before the VIP features were around. If it were to go towards some turny or something along those lines then I would be more than happy. Right now it justs feels like it's map release, demo release. One after the other. But this big change thing you are talking about faker goes well then I will donate. Given the condition that this isnt just a one off, and wont fail miserably like prochallenge #2 due to lack of motivation. Which I think XJ is lacking seriously at the moment when it comes to the "exciting things" Correct me if I'm wrong but I've just written it the way I see it. I dont know what goes on behind the scenes, and if it's the total opposite to what I've just written then I apologise. :)

I would like to comment a little on the sponsor thing you talked about earlier faker. It must be possible to get sponsors for Kz now days. I mean Kz has expanded to a level not equal to top regular Cs. But it ain't "that" far away.. I believe that if you explained the firms you ask for a sponsorship, how / what this kz is. And explain them the level it has reached and still expanding, then i really think that it is possible to find a good sponsor. I think "some" of the problem with the sponsors is that they simply don't understand what this is about, and xtreme-jumps magnitude. But this is just my opinion :) -Fluxey

Nice to get some positive feedback and answers with suggestions etc :) Since "Not enough information on what my money will be used for" seems to be the biggest issue for the who could imagine to donate at all (and therefore didn't pick "Don't want to spend money for this kind of hobby"), therefore some information about the current status: The domains (xtreme-jumps.eu & .de etc.) are currently payed by the google ads and oddysseus. We have a generous sponsor (private person called MiniAngel) who's sponsoring the root server the gameservers are running on (taking pretty much everything of the available cpu power etc... :/). The web and fileserver are sponsored buy another guy, but since they cause a LOT of traffic (up to 2 TB per months) we have to pay for the traffic from time to time... that's where the donation come in handy. For the past months we were testing if the donations would be enough to pay us an own rootserver, unfortunately they weren't. If you ask yourself "why do they need an own server if they have the sponsored one" - the answer is: To be independet. We never know how long the sponsors will be there, since they are private persons and not companies. Also an own server would give us way more freedom (ftp accounts for every VIP user etc.) and more features, which are not possible atm because we don't have full access to the servers. Well, since the new servers didn't happen we saved the money for better times... but recently we had an good occasion to invest a pretty large amount of the donations for a cool thing to come. It's not reinventing the wheel but it's a thing that is long needed I think... Happy guessing ;) Of course we are going to take your feedback into consideration and the donations page will be updated soon: - Prizes will be shortened - We are trying to add new features (feedback still welcome) as much as it's possible - Information how the money is spent will be added on the donations page - A bar will be added to see the donation "goal" every month to achieve our new server, maybe this is going to help, too.

I am now inactive for more than one year in this community, but I also want to give you my opinion: 1) At a time of world wide economic depression everybody tries to save as much money as possible. First, they save money on things, which aren't necessary to "survive". For most of the people, Xtreme-Jumps is just a leisure activity, not a serious issue to earn money with. It is not as high rated as other things in their life. This could be the reason why people didn't donate so far. 2) Probably a lot of people are under the age of 18. They do not have an own bank account to deal with paypal. Another point is that the process is too complicated or the effort is too high... You know... humans are lazyyyy ;) 3) We don't know for what we spend our money. Some time ago, as the donation system has been created, you told us to spend money to keep this site alive. But as you can see, this site is still running and some people may think that XJ doesn't have any financial problems. But in fact, XJ really needs this money. Everyday this site could be shut down if a sponsor has abandoned the connections. 4) This community has become a big international meeting point for every passionate kz-climber. As a result of this, a lot of people have another type of currency. I don't know how you handle this problem, but if you don't manage it right, people can't spend. But I could be wrong in this point... I don't know paypal... Probably they accept all types of currency. 5) [b]This is my main point![/b] In my view, Xtreme-Jumps is a great site and has fascinated myself some years ago. Your offer is really nice and I've met a lot of people all around the globe. It was really fun to kreedz with my online friends. By the way, I still have a contact to some people and already visted someone in real life. [b]BUT, Xtreme-Jumps is without prospects![/b] XJ is great to meet friends and have some fun. But that's it (and it's good, isn't it?) You don't need to give the community more. [b]We have all what we want[/b]. Finally the Weekly Crew is doing constantly good stuff. The Mapchecking-Team seems to do their job well as well as the Cup-Admins. Not about to forget the Demo-Releases. I don't think what could comes next...? We are happy with this site. I don't think that you are planning an world wide online league. With big events and price money and stuff. Kreedzing is just a fun acitivty besides normal Counter-Strike. It never could raise up to a popular mass sport activity. [b]Faker[/b], I know that you are playing Counter-Strike in the Electronic Sports League and that you are a very good and ambitous player. But let us be realistic. Do you really think to create a new type of league, which is comperable to the ESL? I have no idea about your future plans with this community, but I don't think you are able to do this. Maybe there are some features to add, but the maximum of this page has been reached. With donating money you can only keep this site alive. Not spending money for big future projects. [b]Just my opinion, NOT everybodys opinion![/b] ;) Cheers

Well this has been long overdue. I originally wasn't going to post but I feel like this community has been one of my homes for the past few years and maybe deserves my attention a bit more. Anyway, lets start off with sponsors. [b]Sponsors[/b] Lets be honest. This site is lacking in many aspects but the biggest is sponsors. We don't have any actual sponsors, and a private "miniAngel" paying for the server is merely support, although greatly appreciated. If you really want to make XJ something from your dreams you need to first think as a sponsor would. Take for instance, AMD or even INTEL. If you were to come to me with a sponsorship proposition, I would more then likely see three main things. First: You have a large and supportive community backing. +1 Second: You are the core of KZ, the father. +1 Three: You have absolutely no advertising space for sponsors. -10 Now of course sponsors want to see how your community works and how big you are. They don't care if your team is number 1 in ranks or about stuff like that, they want to see how much advertising they can squeak in for free and how much they can benefit by supporting you. As of now they would more then likely ask you to remake this entire website, get some people that take writing serious, and have a broader news/video/other events sections. As XJ stands now, we are lucky to get one or maybe two news post a week, and that's bad. Don't take this the wrong way, but when I was an admin, there was a week where I submitted about 8 news post in one week (including the XJ weekly). As far as server sponsors go, I don't think you really need them. There is always people in the community that are willing to help out, as such you have acquired miniAngel. What you should be looking for in sponsors is a web design sponsor, someone to provide prizes for more formidable and competitive contest and of course web space. Its great being able to say you "Stand alone" as an organization or even a company, but lets be honest faker. You don't want to be that. You want to be able to provide your VIP's and even normal visitors with prizes and with special tickets and the such, but you can't do that with out some serious sponsors backing you. Well you could but with little money left over. [b]Events/Contest/Tournaments[/b] Lets face it, cups are getting old and XJ has little left other then who can hold the most world records. We used to have the "Weekly challenge" and then "XJ challenge" and once there was a world cup. But where did XJ cup go? and where did the world cup go? You need to keep your community entertained! They want a league, they want more raffles, they want competition! SPONSORS WANT COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT! THE COMMUNITY WANTS AND NEEDS TO BE INVOLVED! First: Bring back the world cup Seond: Have people sign up for random prize drawings weekly/monthly w/e! Third: Grab some sponsors and have give aways of their product. Fourth: Make a KZ league or more competitions! This community is capable of dishing all of these things out you just need to apply your knowledge and capitalize. I don't have time to write more as I have class tonight and then cs matches later. But I will highlight my main points. [b]First:[/b] SPONSORS love advertisement. [b]Second:[/b] Sponsors love community involvement. [b]Third:[/b] Sponsors love an active staff that ACCURATELY defines what they represent. [b]Fourth:[/b] Bring back the competition to KZ. Its what it needs and frankly these little cups are not doing it. [b]Fifth:[/b] By bringing all of these aspects together you will be able to succeed with this community and advance in ways you would never imagine. I agree that there need to be more information, and there will be, but some surprises are pretty cool as well, aren't they? - Fire: Thanks for your great post, really appreciated mate :) Had some of your thoughts in my mind as well (esp. Razer and Logitech), but you know how things roll... To pull off somehting like that you need motivation and time, things I didn't have in the past months... I guess you felt it too when you decided to resign (still missing you :p) - and few of the other admins amongst us as well. Having some free time from universtiy atm, eddy is a real help by my side, so well... let's see what is about to come. With the money we collected so far we'll do the first step, a lof of stuff to come after that if it works, nothing is impossible I guess. Real sponsors = more action = more money and probably more donations. Just take the league as an example... in the past we couldn't find a good coder, or the ones we found lost the motivation... but if there is money, there will be real pro-coders and finally a league if everything works. Would be more that cool to have an own league at XJ (independant from e107 ofc.) :)

@ Faker I cannot believe that XJ doesnt find any sponsor?? Every noobteam in the ESL have a serversponsor. And that are little nonameclans with rank 150 maximum. With this big community you must be able to find a sponsor. Why i dont donate: In my eyes the prices are to high and i dont know what happend with my money. Make it please clearer and cheaper.
