It's a very hard question for me.. I would never cheat, but also I would have to see it from the cheaters point-of-view, but even then he still shouldnt have done it in the first place.. Being perm. banned is very harsh since people can change, and after that it's just.. "Too bad, you cheated, you can't ever in your life post another demo". Very hard question for me :/

If a player is caught cheating, he should be permanently banned, no matter the situation. The player can choose to / not to submit the demo.

i'd like cheaters to be banned for 6month form the website. after this time the player is allowed to view the website again. after another 6 months he is allowed to send in new demos. the first demos should be checked by eDark than to confirm that they are clean. if the player dares to cheat again he should get a perm ban.

Please... Long time ago [b]tarGet[/b] cheated many times and nowadays everybody loves this guy, he belongs to the [b]kz legends[/b]! He [b]didn't[/b] get perm' banned so why should iiN be perm' banned? It's not logical. If the persons has cheated only once, not on all his demos... There is no such thing as "black" and "white", people can change. But the change has to be real, therfore I'd love to see nother solution for this problem: A long bantime (6 months - 2 years), no matter how many demos were cheated, but no permban. The ESL is having the same problem... if people are banned for too lang they just will create fakeaccounts because they think "in xx months/years I won't play the game anymore, so fuck it and let's have some fun for the moment".... Well, they have better ways to catch such people (even though the jump style of every jumper is pretty unique and a fake nick wouldn't help), but the system isn't perfect as well. Therfore I think 6 months - 1 year is perfect. If they still try to cheat -> permanent ban.

benZ, but think about the first bust of slowmoers. Everyone got perm ban, so why timeban for iiN? + target used "easier" hacks, slowmo is noways hack (for kz) and it's hard to detect this, that may be a reason why people think that they can submit slowmoed demos and will not get busted.

Of course permban but... does it matter? Once a cheater is banned, he gets another account with a new nickname, plus his friend sends his demos so you cant verify him by IP. He just has to get the new undetectable cheats...

2 years ago, the "easier cheats" you're talking about were also hard to detect, nowadays it's slowmo' hack, kz changes, the cheats too. and your "cheater once, cheater for life" is a pure bullshit from non-tolerant people. Try relating this to a real life situation. Say you're having depression problems or something, still in school. You're prescribed pills to take them every so often, you leave them in your locker at school in a plastic bag or something. School body finds them, expels you because you can't give proof of the prescription... You would want the second to chance to prove that you're not the person to bring drugs to school.

Wow some people are really mentally damaged, to say it nice. Why the hell shouldn't a cheater get a second chance? You learn from you mistakes. It's like a small kid playing with fire. If he touches the fire, he will burn himself, and get a new experience, and won't do it again. I think it's nonsense what boom.dll is saying. 780 isn't different from slowmo, since it's still cheating. It's just according to the situation, and it is THERE that the banlimit should be given from, and not just permban. If you choose permban, you shouldn't let someone off because because he ex. uses 780, and you're like well okay it isn't that much, blablabla... Tempoary ban, 100%! Everyone can change, and I'm sure that iiN will, since he had talent, and you can't run from that, if you like him or not. iiN made a mistake.. don't we all? iiN was curious, and I doubt he will make that mistake again.

I don't see the point in permbanning cheaters the first time they have done something. (Unless they have lied to the very end that they didn't cheat etc.) If you permban a player who cheated the first time he'll probably just create new nicknames until he won't be noticed and banned again. (This is what happened to fr0xzy aka quiCker^ after the bhop script thingy right?) Even though it is hard/impossible for some to trust a cheater once he gets busted I believe a second chance should be given to a person if he/she acts mature after being busted or confessing the cheats he/she used.

Well, a "dedicated" cheater (aka the ones with the weakest character, who just want to get some attention or whatever) would probably just open a new account anyway, regardless of time or perm ban. You simply can not compare a script or server command to the use of a "real" cheat. The former even comes with various script packs, the latter requires much more determination to get and use. ====== And BTW, i find the argument that "Only dumbs never change their minds" ridiculous tbh ...

Timeban for about 2 months would be the right thing to do imo. Esp. young players fall for cheats very easily. Noticing that cheating is a bad thing to do is part of the progress almost every gamer has to expierence (at least I did).
