a little question, I had 6HP and then activated godmode, when I now fall and loose more than 6HP I hear the sound it makes when I would die. And when I not hear it, I did a jump-bug, right?

Soelberg: Yes, that's right. But you fall down pretty fast so you can't see "oh, i'm 4 units above the ground now"... It's all about the timing (and luck to release duck and jump in the right moment :D)

Mm, bans are okay, but what's up with the current ones? You randomly short some slowmoers ban to 6months without publishing even why is it that, and if someones asking for it then you (admins) say: the bantime depend's of a case. Give the same punishment to all the cheater-groups (example: "easier" cheats-group = cvar changes, simple scripts; "harder" cheats-group = slowmotion cheats and bhop/longjump hacks) and in any case of exeptions - publish the reason, thanks.

RemaKe`: All cheaters get unbanned after 6 months, due to the new rules (were changed some months ago, just search for the newspost), but of course they have to ask us, since we don't keep lists and want to manually unban them bit by bit. In some extreme cases there still might be perm bans, due to admins' discretion. However, some ppl seem to HATE all the slowmo users getting unbanned lately, therfore this vote and some internal thoughts about it.

It depens on what hack he actually used. When he seriously used a slowmotion hack, a permban is needed. But if he just uses a "wait" script, you could unban him after some time. Some people even don't know, that these scripts are illegal here. But I want to put forward that iiN get's unbanned soon. Let's take him as an example. After he got busted here at XJ, he named the reason to cheat, that he wanted to beat all my demos, because he hates me. (I don't even know why, we never chatted or smth) He didn't even say sorry to me, he thought it was okay to say, that I'm his hardest opponent. After he got banned he even said, that he'll be back in 6 months... Don't know what you're thinking, but he definitily deserves a perma for me. But let's take Tess as an other example. He used slowmo hack and now he's back with some world records. Everyone can spectate him doing them and thats why XJ can trust him. He deserves a second change... However this decision is very hard in my eyes. I gotta read some more posts.

Fuck the cheaters, permban them all. when they first use a hack, they also have to know the consequences of it. who cares what kind of potential they would have had without cheats.

and you can also say that if they hadn't got busted in the first place, they would still keep on doing it, but because they got busted they are doing everything to get mercy and to build up credibility again. I bet there are more cheated demos in the record archives, but we might not ever figure it out.

Life with parole to every cheater I say. Give them a parm ban with a fixed limited sentence say 1 year or 6 months whatever. After that they can talk to an admin proving they have wronged, and may be allowed back. If the ever cheat again though, track their ip and beat the shit out of them.

6 months are the most proper duration. If the cheaters really want to play any more, they would have enough time to make a deep thought of their bad behaviors, and get back with a new enthusiasm for KZ but not a new cheating method. So 6 months for the first time is good. Of course cheating again deserves a permanent ban, I think there are no doubts.

I agree with chrizZo, but I believe that a banned cheater should be obligated to message an admin after around 6 months, convince them he has changed and may be given another chance. This would probably tell the differences between iiN and Tess for example.

If you are so dumb, that you actually want to cheat in a game, where you can't even win any money (talking about world records here) you really don't belong here. You really eager for the "Internet-fame" if you do that, and that's immaturity. I really don't believe in giving cheaters a second chance, even if there are exceptions like BooLiSH mentioned. Why should we trust them now when they cheated before? I really don't care if they are better without cheat, they still cheated.

The serious cheaters will always cheat and come back, there is nothing you can do about it. If it's an easy-to-detect cheat ban them some months. If they use cheats like kayne and tess etc permban them.
