But I think that people have come to think that the longer the weekly is, the better it is. That is not true. You can't make a weekly better just by loading it with irrelevant information about cup history and interviews. The cup history could go in the KZ history thread in the forum, and the interviews have a section in \"Articles\". You have to face it guys, if there is no news, the weekly is not going to be good. We have repeatedly seen over the past few weeks that there is, in fact, not enough news anymore for a \"weekly\". I think that as people have suggested, a \"monthly\" would make more sense. There are many reasons why this would be better than a weekly:\\r\\n\\r\\n-More news, obviously. The more news, the better. The way the news is delivered is also important.\\r\\n\\r\\n-People would have more time to write the weekly, and *hopefully* be able to write it in good English.\\r\\n(Frankly, people who don't have good English shouldn't be writing these. Or at least, if they don't have good English, they should write the basis of the weekly and pass it off to an editor who will perfect the English. I've done it for omilo before, even though it was a little pointless, because omilo's English is pretty good.)\\r\\n\\r\\n-If a monthly is done, perhaps not ONE person has to write the whole thing. Divide up the \"monthly\" into sections, and have one crew member do one or two sections. Throughout the month, that person can focus just on that aspect of the community. That way people who might not be interested in the maps, for example, can skip it.\\r\\n-Demos of the month section could be a little more extensive. Instead of just listing your personal favorite demo of the month, include some sort of explanation and description. I point you back to the audio commentary for demos that was suggested a while back. This is still applicable, if you ask me.\\r\\n\\r\\nI have more suggestions, and I could come up with more. However, I don't think that it's right to put up a \"half-assed\" interview just in order to make the weekly larger. If an interview is done, it should be done right. I was playing pretty much CS at that time and when i found out how to download the program you make maps in I got kind of interested. And when i first got introduced to the kz scene i saw there was alot of variation in the maps, and that made me wanna start mapping.\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]When did you start mapping and how was the result of your 1st project?[/b] \\r\\n- I started mapping 8-9 years ago and my first project was a grey room with boxes. Wasn't that good back then and it looked kinda funky. =)\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Which map are you most proud of and why?[/b] \\r\\n- Ouch, that’s a hard one. But I have to say Toonworld, because I did build it from scratch and made my own textures. But I like my other maps as well, in their own way.\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Do you have any good advices for people who wants to start mapping?[/b] \\r\\n- Try to be eccentric and don't be afraid to think outside the box. Mix the environment and jumps so it doesn't get boring.\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]You've been around for a few years, what’s the biggest difference between the maps that were made back then and the maps that are made today?[/b]\\r\\n- There was allot of cave maps, regular wall climbing sections. Today it seams like bhop and longjump maps has taken over. =)\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]What happen if you lose interest in a map you're working on?i[/b]\\r\\n- I lose inspiration and I put it aside for a while until I get it back. \\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Some people might know that you create your own textures for your maps. I've been playing kz off and on for like the past 4 years.\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]You have been around for a very very long time in the KZ scene.\\r\\n What is the biggest difference between now and lets say 3 years ago?[/b]\\r\\n- Well I still remember when checkpoints didn't exist... those were the days...Just climb to the top of the map and boom your sense of accomplishment would be satisfied. \\r\\n\\r\\nNow people are never satisfied until they can longjump 250 or other things. It has changed quite a bit. I'm pretty sure any old-schoolers would be shocked to see it's current state. I think it could even still continue to grow if word got out. \\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Which demo did you have most trouble recording? And why?[/b]\\r\\n- Really.. All my demos are about the same. It usually takes me awhile to get perfect runs and be satisfied with it.\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Which of all (climb)maps have you spent most time on if you include both LAN and public? Estimate your hours![/b]\\r\\n- Ew... estimate my hours? I don't want to feel like I'm wasting my life. I only play to have fun you know. \\r\\nI usually play a wide range of maps. kz_tropiclimb_b01 has been giving me some trouble though with some bhops I'm trying to do. \\r\\n\\r\\nI've tied the wr a few times.. and even wall-glitched/fell and tied it so hopefully I can beat it one day when I get enough motivation!\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]If Yes: Are they proud of you?\\r\\nIf No: Is kz so geeky that it's forbidden to talk about irl?[/b]\\r\\n- Any game is geeky if you play it allot. I usually just refrain from talking about it to chicks :D\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Do you have any special time during the day or any special mood when you prefer to record your demos?[/b]\\r\\n- Not really... it's usually when I'm sick of my internet sucking and lagging in pubs or when I'm bored and there's nothing else to do. I got a few past ones though at like 3am in the morning! You never know! \\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Do you have any particular warm-up routine before you record a WR. Playing pub, playing the WR-map practicing jumps with cp/tp, etc...?[/b]\\r\\n- Well it usually depends on the map. I always go through it and make sure I know exactly what bhops I'm going to do. Just one short hesitation could make you lose time. Longjumping, bhopping and syncing your strafes are what I usually practice if I'm sucking and haven't played for a while.\\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Which one of your demos are you the most proud of?[/b]\\r\\n- Well I don't think it's just one demo. It felt really good getting kz_bhopwarehouse. And also rambo_xen, and mountainchurch. A demo which feels perfect to the recorder is a good demo in my opinion. \\r\\n\\r\\n[b]Do you like the competition you get when people beat your demos and you get the chance of beating them back?[/b]\\r\\n- Not really it just means more time wasted for me! I prefer to get a really good/near perfect demo so I don't have to beat anyone back!
