This map has been in production for a very long time, and has passed through the hands of three mappers - Frei, NoEx and Licoti. It has been denied by the mapcheck team several times, but thanks to the persistence and tenacity of the mappers it has finally (and rightfully) been accepted. Not only is this map beautiful, and not only are the jumps very fun, it is also very, very nostalgic. There were so many amazing demos, it was almost impossible to choose. Originally we had only planned to do a top5, or a top10, but in the end we managed to squeeze this summer into 16 incredible demos. However, each and every one of these demos is amazing, so we decided not to sort them from best to worst, but instead to place them in the order they were released. Best, worst, who cares? They’re all awesome! Without further ado, here are the demos that we think deserve a place on the top 16:\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]us[/flag] brian: dg_winterclimb done in 00:58 (00:59 [flag]ru[/flag] Cordyline)\\r\\nIt was quite a shock to everyone when Cordyline managed to beat brian’s seemingly perfect run on this map. However, brian quickly retaliated with possibly one of his best demos ever. In it he makes amazing use of the “doubleducks-to-bhop” technique, as thopa called it, to once again “beat the unbeatable”.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]fi[/flag] flaip: kz_sandblock2 done in 15:36 (21:43 [flag]ca[/flag] Bibo)\\r\\nHow does one describe a map like kz_sandblock2? Insanely hard, revolutionary, unbelievably annoying, or just a big pain in the ass to record? In order to finish this map, let alone in world record time, one must have astonishing jumping skills and the patience of a rock. It seems that after completing the map, flaip has only one question remaining before he solves the mystery of life. And that question is… WHY?!\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]us[/flag] SuPa: kz_cfl_mountainchurch done in 00:45 (00:46 [flag]us[/flag] SuPa)\\r\\nAh, SuPa… Once again, the awesome oldschool jumper beats this tiny map. Beating emmalahana by one second on this map was somehow feasible, but two? It was a little hard to conceive at first. Great job SuPa.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]cn[/flag] sKiCg: kz_junglezone done in 04:14 (04:17 [flag]cn[/flag] sKiCg)\\r\\nsKiCg has come up with quite a few great demos in the past few weeks, but this one especially stands out. The classic radon map was held for a long time by loty, with a time of 4:24. It was then beaten by Dujes (who seems to be a tad inactive currently), another great jumper, with a time of 4:22. sKiCg blew the competition away, crushing the record by 8 whole seconds. Keep providing us with those fantastic demos sKiCg!\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]gb[/flag] soul|ftw: kz_ea_caveclimb_h done in 05:18 (05:20 [flag]de[/flag] T3dBundy)\\r\\nThe master of sexy tiny strafes, soul|ftw, proved that no demo is safe – even amazing records by T3dBundy – with a stellar demo of an absolutely annoying map. This was considered by some to be the very best a jumper like T3d had to offer. Yet, in a demo that seems almost careless at times, soul manages to turn the tables towards the Brits. But, this wasn’t the only amazing T3d demo he had beaten…\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]gb[/flag] soul|ftw: kz_giantbean_b15[1337trees] done in 01:09 (01:10 [flag]de[/flag] T3dBundy)\\r\\nThis is a map that had had a total of 15 world records, by various legendary jumpers including FikoN, tarGet, ndR, sambb, donakos and T3dBundy. That is, until soul came by and ripped the map apart even more than T3d. For many this came as more of a shock than when T3d lost kz_xj_mountez to brian. There’s honestly not much to say about this demo, other than the fact that it is made up of 50% awesomeness and 50% win.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]us[/flag] brian: j2s_westbl0ck done in 03:00 (03:01 [flag]fr[/flag] heL^_x)\\r\\nA good internet connection: $35\\r\\nA legit copy of Counter-Strike: $10\\r\\nA new graphics card: $150\\r\\nAn unbelievable world record: Priceless\\r\\nThere are some maps that seem very beatable, but for everything else – there’s brian.\\r\\n \\r\\n[flag]dk[/flag] Micron: kz_tropiclimb_b01 done in 03:23 (03:26 [flag]us[/flag] SuPa)\\r\\nWhat defines a legendary jumper? Is it how oldschool he is? How many records he has? What his style is like? His ability to make a comeback with nothing more than a whim? Or maybe it can be a combination of these. Micron, this has always been the map you sought – your map, and you rightfully deserve it. Don’t stop surprising us.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]de[/flag] StormZz: nfs_longjumpez in 00:25 (00:26 [flag]se[/flag] Messing)\\r\\nAh StormZz… You sure like getting these short, insanely hard to beat records huh? Although no one doubted your bhopping abilities ever since your debut release a while back, no one could see this coming. Messing’s record was one of those that people just passed off as pefect, impossible to beat. Leave it to no one other than you to prove them wrong. Congrats, this is a demo that will likely never get beaten.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]us[/flag] brian: kz_cliffez done in 01:33 (01:35 [flag]ru[/flag] Cordyline)\\r\\nAs mentioned two categories above, brian manages to completely and utterly rape yet another fabulous, classic map. This demo might prove more than any other that there’s nothing brian can’t do. He can bhop, he can multistrafe, he can doubleduck, and it seems like nothing stops him from owning any map he wishes. Hats off to you, Mr. brian.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]ru[/flag] Cordyline: kz_megabhop_hard done in 01:39 (01:43 [flag]cn[/flag] Pitter)\\r\\nOnce again, Cordyline proves that he is not one to be laughed at when it comes to bhopping. Despite having the easy version of the map beaten by cheche, the hard one still remains (getting the same time on both was crazy as it is!). Good luck getting more amazing demos Cordyline, the community has high hopes for you.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]fr[/flag] heL^_x: kz_dbh_pipehop done in 01:50 (01:53 [flag]ca[/flag] Sakto)\\r\\nIn his 1:54 demo, heL^x wrote, quite simply: “hmm 1:53 possible.. :)”\\r\\nWhen that demo was beaten by the newcomer Sakto, some people thought heL^_x might not be able to take it back. Boy, did he prove them wrong with this amazing time! Great demo heL^_x.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]fi[/flag] Flibo: kz_ezalpin done in 02:54 (02:56 [flag]fr[/flag] ndR)\\r\\nThis map is well known to be the only record ndR has ever claimed to be truly satisfied with. However, Flibo decided to top off his 8-demo release streak with quite a cherry on top. In the spirit of the Olympics that are coming to an end now, I will now announce your score gymnastics-style. Your starting value was 7.6, just for taking on a demo of this caliber, and execution 9.6, just because there’s always a way to improve. :p\\r\\nIf any demo may spark an ndR comeback, this is it! It won’t be easy to topple Flibo’s demo though – amazing job.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]dk[/flag] cheche: kz_megabhop done in 01:38 (01:39 [flag]ru[/flag] Cordyline)\\r\\nOh my… This might sound repetitive, but it certainly made quite a few people go o_O when Cordyline beat both this map and the hard version. Little did they know that cheche, who has been getting some pretty awesome kz-sca records (including clintmo_bhopriver in 22 seconds), was going to push this map one step further. Good luck getting more of those bhop records, cheche, there are big expectations for you.\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]fi[/flag] mjuuh: cg_cbblebhop done in 01:16 (01:19 [flag]bg[/flag] ScooteR)\\r\\nIt was hard for us to decide which one of mjuuh’s amazing demos we were going to use for this top16. In the end we decided on cg_cbblebhop, because not only does it showcase his amazing bhop and bhoplj skill, it also shows his longjumping skill and consistency, as does the shortcut which skips the small longjump stage. Not to mention that with this demo, the arguably best Bulgarian bhopper, ScooteR, has been eliminated from the record list. Keep up your amazing release streak mjuuh!\\r\\n\\r\\n[flag]dk[/flag] PuppetZ^: kz_j2s_summercliff_ez done in 02:10 (02:12 [flag]se[/flag] fr0xzy)\\r\\nThe last thing people had been expecting from PuppetZ^ after his 7-demo comeback, which consisted of 58:24 minutes of pure run-time, were two demos on short, highly-acclaimed maps such as the kz_j2s_summercliff maps. Both runs are spectacular, the only reason we chose the easy version is that he already had the hard version of the map in his repertoire (even though that edge bug at the end of the hard version of the map made us think twice!). Keep recording PuppetZ^, your demos are like KZ porn – so sexy.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\nAaaand cut. That’s a wrap for this summer!\\r\\nLet’s move on to some more current issues.\\r\\n\\r\\n[u]Current News:[/u]\\r\\n\\r\\nTo start off, we have some news about [b]FPS-Death[/b]. As everyone already knows, FPS-Death was leaked about a month ago. We are happy to announce that we found additional proof of whoever leaked the admin version of FPS-Death. This is a newer version than the one that got leaked and will contain all functions needed for national demochecks.\\r\\nThe rumor is that he has just finished the 2d engine, and the graphics are more or less done. There is no info about when it will be done/released, but there is a chance of it being publicly released.\\r\\nWe will have more information on this matter in the next weekly, as eDark will have more to share with us by then.\\r\\nIn other news, the XJ crew would like to wish Pf0llz0r, who just resigned as an XJ admin, good luck in the future. Pf0llz0r, who was the main leader of the [b]community-block project[/b], had given all the work on the project to radon. But, radon also seems to have had problems with time at the moment. Right now it looks as if the project has been passed to clair. The current plan or progress of the project is still unknown, but it is good to know that there is still hope for it to be released one day. All we have to say is that this brilliant idea is performed perfectly by the outstanding host. How he implemented the 5.1 surround sound still amazes us.\\r\\nThe second episode aired around 2 months ago and immediately recieved an unbelievable 128 views (interesting connection there with coding and the even number 128). Anyhow, the second video features a preview of gangien's living room and sleeping area, done in an extremely artistic way.\\r\\nHow he records the videos and uploads them in 1080p and with 7.1 surround sound onto youtube is still a mystery (one can even pinpoint the fingerprints on his keyboard with this resolution). Does he have a secret contract with youtube for hosting these high resolution videos?\\r\\n\\r\\nThe most viewed episode is still the first one, because of the engaging reality aspect to it (it really feels like you're walking around by yourself in the apartment), very good camera handling, and of course the amazing quality.
