Kreedz.com - CS 1.6 KZ World Records & Maps

Hey guys,

a few things I'd like to announce, regarding our website and running projects:

1. The public mapcheck area was closed for obvious reasons: The activity was going down ever since the first maps, probably because people did realize that it’s actually a hard work to check the maps and give constructive feedback. If you take a look at the forum we had around ~30 people involved and 30-38 replies on the first maps, but only 4-5 replies on the latest maps - even though there was a

Climax Cave bylevel2

level2 got introduced to the kz scene by mistake. It was a late December day in 2005. He saw a server with a weird map name, which was kz_man_owtcity. So he joined the server to see what it was. A year or so after that he found Xtreme-Jumps. At this point he wasn't a very active member, mostly reading news/forums and observing things, today he's a well known person in the kz-scene.

Hey guys,

it's been ~3 months since the Public Mapcheck Area was announced in this newspost.

Ever since that things have been running slower and slower - on both sides, the admins who didn't post enough stuff into the area, and the users who didn't test the maps as frequent as before or rather lost the pleasure in testing them at all (or simply forgot about the system).

Therefore I'd like to give it a last try and remind you about this attempt to see how a public mapcheck would work. Everyone who is interested in this: Write a short application and help us finding bugs/issues on the new maps.

Hey there,

w1zz & me are starting a new tournament today on XJ, everybody is welcome to join this tournament, that means there are no skill restrictions.

The rules are simple there aren't any specific rules except that the client settings are same as these for recording a worldrecord - and no cheating.
There are also no sign up restrictions (slots, age etc..)

The sign up is now open until July-13-2009 8pm GMT+1

The movie making community KZ-Pictures have come out with a new movie with the finnish jumper KeltA.
KeltA is fairly new to the KZ scene, but have had a few impressive world records already.
In this movie he shows of his trick jumping skills. The movie contains mostly old jumps but they are made with either heavier weapons or with new techniques.

Hey guys,

there have several add-ons and modifications regarding our IRC and VIP system:

1. First of all an I'd like to announce that an old invite channel for record holders was reopened yesterday!
Some of the oldschoolers might still know the name, anyone else will learn about it soon :)

Currently we're re-building the channel with new ideas:

Bascially it should be a place to "feel home" for the record holders, like the big and secret channels in the 1.6 shooting community (where mouz, fnatic etc. are used to hang out)

Count on me is a chillout trickjump movie featuring Count.

If there is one thing in particular that has made Count immortal in the kz scene (and cs in regular) - it's the invention of the longjump technique - known as "Countjump" or "cj". Everyone that were in the kz scene before this technique was publicly announced knows that it pretty much revolutionized the way to record demos. If you knew how to CJ, and had skills enough to record a WR, then it just didn't make shortcuts easier, it made formerly "impossible" shortcuts possible - opening a new world of recording map demos. Thank you for this technique! (This isn't my news, but I'll use it to "brag" about that I had the first cj in a world record -

First off I would like to thank all the people involved in keeping the tournament running. A few people need a special thanks.

juleeeh for making all the beautiful banners for each round.
w1zz for helping me running the tournament and coding a lot of the pages for the website.
Nikola for creating a few well needed scripts and for tweaking some of the tournament pages.
TinTin for donating 100 euros to the tournament prize pool!
