everyone knows that then you are jumping hj you have to jump ~10 from edge, so waht about going climb parts is it better to jump ~10 from edge on kz blocks?

I hope you understand what i wanted to tell.

wtf then it would b really short? dont rly understand

Gnomas09/07/2008 22:57(edited 09/07/2008 22:57)

Yes on small block it won't work but mby it's better on bigger block o wich you can reach 250 run speed

NeMiQ2209/07/2008 23:22

I think there is also edgefriction.

Mehz09/07/2008 23:53(edited 09/07/2008 23:54)

theres slowdown anyways, so wtf?

Yeah, after I got to know this about hjs, my mind has become fucked up.. Maps like SB2, I can't decide whether to try and treat it like a hj or not.

Well... depends alot on the jump :S Mostly you'll do the jump anyway if it's a hj. In hard maps you should almost always jump jumps like hjs :S

i dont know if i am right:

high jumping in normal run (foward)
~10 units = 250 u/s
~5 units = 240 u/s
~0 units = 230 u/s

mehz is right

If the jump is higher then your player model, treat it like a hj.

So you mean all the hjs basically? Because I know what are hjs and what are not, it's just if I'm going to jump before the edge on the jump or not.
But I guess you should try on all jumps.

There is no difference between a elevated longjump, aka highjump and a ordinary jump in any random map - that is above 69 units from the platform below. So yes, try to use the hj technique on most jumps. But on some highjumps you must jump at the exact edge, but that depends on how high and far away the next jump is, or how big the platform you are standing on is.

I've jumped this way since the day we found this out, and I'm doing pretty well climbing most maps. Well, I used to when I was more active...

+1
try to do less but bigger strafes on harder jumps (harder maps) .. that's what i saw on sandblock2 .. on some jumps its faster to do less strafes but bigger ones

wRath` mapper18/07/2008 20:27

Actually, that is just what I do Otcheto. Especially on jumps where one part is really high and you jump up to it from a lower part. I only do 2-3 strafes, big and with sync. The jump that was bothering me was the 4th jump on sandblock2, but I know how to do it now! Just run at an angle to the right, I think the block by it removes the edge friction thus making the jump not that hard.

i jump some really difficult jumps like 10 units before edge in kz maps. its easier imo
