Low RAM for Vegas? 2GB Atm!

Hey people... I have tried to render a 11 Minuite Movie..[VEGAS MOVIE STUDIO 8.0 PLATINUM]

But getting a problem at the beginning of the Render...
"System is Low on Memory"
I have tried to close EVERY SINGLE app.. but it still doesn't work

I have Intel C2D E4400 2.0GHz
Kingston 2GB 667MHz RAM

I have never had a problem before even with 1GB..Some people I know render fine at 1GB + AMD Sempron 1.6 GHz :\ so what is wrong with my Project?

How do I change this?
Do I need to upgrade to 4GB?
How do I change my Virtual Memory?

i dont think your sys might have too low ram.... 2gigs should be enough for xp and even for vista (except you totally fucked up your organisation stuff). i think vegas has a problem.

i think its something to do with 'Virtual Memory' this person did it (i dont know wot values he put) i will ask him (he has 2gb aswell)

i just really need 2 be able 2 render this...

configure your virtual memory.... simply google that for explentation.

this is mine. its like the "alrounder":

(rightclick on "my computer", last tab (duno what it is in english), and then the first button in this tab ("settings").

for rendering you could try your ram +4-6 (for example 2049x4=8184).

if your swapfile/pagefile (whatever it's called in english) is too high, you can also try to deactivate it.


maybe one of those settings work.

when u're done with the rendering i recomm you to use a setting where your swapfile is idle 1/4 as big as your ram.

lol in the early years like 2005-06 i rendered with vegas on a 256ram + 2.4 ghz pc and btw i can recomend you to use sony vegas video 5 - best version

i have tried the Virtual Memory, to make it 4096Mb - 8184Mb... Is that right?
(just need 2 restboot pc)

and How do you de-activate you Pagefile/Swapfile?

that is the one going shooting up in memory.. whenever i open vegas.. it goes way up to like 1.5Gb :/

so how do you de-activate you pagefile/swapfile?

you can deactivate it by selecting this option:

and better try to make it 2048 - 8184 before you deactive the swap file. if this doesnt work, then i suggest to deactive it and try again.

notice: you have to reboot your pc after each change of those settings! (sry, i forgot to say this)

Ever tried to use an older version of vegas ? Im using 6.0d and it worked fine with ma old 512 ram, now im using 1gb and still no problems there.

so will my 'project file' be able to open in other vegas versions?

Vegas MS Platinum 8.0

will it open with another version of vegas? or will i have to start another project and edit again?

+ u used keygen for AEE CS3 Pro..right? u got a link xD wonna try :P

btw u know the Vegas Keygens... who has used it b4 without problems (malware)

vonch, i dont know whats wrong in zyllees clip, but zyllEE had taken clips already and he sent them to me. After i added some clips to vegas, preview started to lag etc. Now it doesn't render.

yeh thats why i think it doesnt render... but..

i have made an 'AWP WALLBANG' short 1 frag video, and that lagged when RENDERING its about 1 minuite long.. but thank god it renders at least

i think its to do with the CPU aswell...

+zyllEE's clips are dodgy...

if you put already compressed files in vegas it lags.. :] + best version vegas = 5.0b
