One question about strafes
hello..
Is this true that with circle strafes you jump more or much more than with normal strafes .

yap, normal strafes are easier and best for long jumps. but circles looking sooo cool, usually im using mixed strafes or "half-circled" ones. <3 it :D
:( i dont know whats happening with normal strafes 250-252 and with circle the same thing 250-252 sometimes i make 253... i dont know i have 274+ pre and 330+ maxspeed what i make wrong ....

Try to make a LJ with Up and Down mouse moving strafes and If u get more maxspeed with it, than Left and Right mouse moving strafes, the circle strafes will be the best ^^

Try to make a LJ with Up and Down mouse moving strafes and If u get more maxspeed with it, than Left and Right mouse moving strafes, the circle strafes will be the best ^^
he said he got 330+ maxspeed. And with that I think he means that he has enough maxspeed. And up and down strafes ?!

Look the post I'm replyin' to.. btw how could circle strafes are better than usual if u are gettin' speed only from horizontal moving of mouse.. so its a matter of reflex

I think you don't have just to move mouse to strafe and get speed. You have to get MORE SPEED with less space, control how big is and how fast is. Its hard to control your strafes in 0,72 seconds, but sure that you will can do a 254-255
Well it takes more time to move the crossair in circles than just from right to left and left to right. I guess it's harder to control many circle strafes so when it comes to longjumps normal strafes should be the best. But what happens when it comes to hard kz maps where you can't do a prestrafe. Flaip uses circle strafes in his sandblock2 demo and he obviously control them very well. Hope someone can come here with a proof which is the best way.
09/09/2008 20:38Circle strafes are easier to control, and I think they are proven to be less effective. Because at some points in the strafe, you aren't gaining speed. Just ask some geek ;D
