Config problem.
Hello all, my problem is verry strange. I jump 252+ LJ and strafe pretty good, using steam changed only rates, have my own CFG. I reinstalled steam, cs, everything complete uninstall and now i cant jump even 245+. My cs properties:-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -full -noipx -16bpp -refresh 75 -zone 1024 -freq 75
My config: http://www.speedyshare.com/168507376.html
Pls help anybody with my problem :/ because i cant even bhop normaly now, that my strafes are poor.
did your mouse-movement change? i think you probably forgot to install some drivers which change the mouse/cursor-movement.
anyway i personally reinstall and format my windows partition at least once in 2 months and had once the same probleme like you but i just discovered that my strafes sucked because somehow i managed to fuck up my prestrafe :)
Well, i fixed the problem now :) and added more options to steam launch settings, i recommend that everybody who has low fps set this: -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -full -nojoy -noipx -16bpp -gldrv nvoglnt.dll -gl -refresh 75 -zone 1024 -freq 75 -dxlevel 90 now i have 100fps, everything is ok :) Thanks anyway SchlumPF! :)
-gldrv nvoglnt.dll is a nvidia parameter... you should better explain those parameters before recomneding
noforcemparms -full -nojoy -noipx -16bpp -gldrv nvoglnt.dll -gl -refresh 75 -zone 1024 -freq 75 -dxlevel 90
for what are this commands?
http://www.satanion.dk/cs/launch-options.html
-refresh only works in source-engine games..
Thx Z0ck3rOO7 :D didnot know that, ok i will explain about the the gldrv parameter.
Step 1
Update your Graphics Driver to the latest available.
ATI Users go here: www.ati.com
nVIDIA Users go here: www.nVIDIA.com
Note: Do not just install the new over the old Driver! Go to your Computer Control Panel and uninstall the old Driver first, reboot your Computer and install the new Driver - reboot again when the Driver ask to!
You can also go to www.tweaksrus.com to find one too...
Step 2
Go to your "C:\windows\system32\" folder and search for the file
"atioglxx.dll" if you are ATI User
"nvoglnt.dll" if you are nVidia User
"opengl32.dll" is the Default OpenGL Driver if you don't use ATI or nVidia
rightclick the File and click "copy".
If you cant find you system32 folder - like me - up at the top that search bar is there... manually type out C:\windows\system32 and it will send you to the folder.
Step 3
Go to the folder "gldrv" in your Counter-Strike folder. Usually located at "Steam\SteamApps\YourAccountName\counter-strike\gldrv".
Inside this folder are 2 files. Rename the "3dfxgl.dll" to "3dnwrk" Now press CTRL + V or do a rightclick and paste. Now you should see the file we just copied from the "system32" folder.
Note: If the file is not there right now, slap yourself at the forehead and return to Step 2! ^^
Step 4
Open the file "drvmap.txt" with a Editor (Notepad or whatever), but do not use MS-Word!
Delete everything inside this file! Now write the new Line:
"gldrv/nvoglnt.dll OpenGL Driver" (without the " ") if you are nVidia User
"gldrv/atioglxx.dll OpenGL Driver" (without the " ") if you are ATI User
"gldrv/opengl32.dll OpenGL Driver" (without the " ") if you use Default OpenGL
Save and close this file.
Step 5
Restart Steam, Start Counter-Strike and go straight to "Options". Go to the Video Tab and choose OpenGL (left top "Renderer"), click apply and ok.
you do not need to explain about that gldrv paramter... ive once written a german tutorial about getting more fps in which i explained that paramter myself ^^ (gldrv = opengl driver)....
i just wanted to tell you that you should explain what each of those parameters does and whether tehy work with any system.
maybe i will translate and add some things to the tutorial and make it a sticky ^^
Acidas i have 100fps but its fall to 85-90 when i play 5 on 5 , are this things u write will make my fps dont fall from 100 ?
Maybe :) you could try adding to your CS launch options -freq hz (you max hertz) & you could try that gldrv thing :)
as you cannot describe what those parameters do, i do ^^
-full -nojoy -noipx -16bpp -gldrv nvoglnt.dll -gl -refresh 75 -zone 1024 -freq 75 -dxlevel 90
-full = start cs in fullscreen
-nojoy = disables joystick support, frees ram
-noipx = disables ipx support, frees ram
-16bpp = 16bit, more fps but an unfair advantage in aiming since you can see through smokegrenades
-gldrv = changes your opengldriver, follow acids instructions above
-gl = make cs use opengl as renderer, best renderer for cs which means more fps
-refresh 75 = does not exist for 1.6 but for css afaik, same as -freq, isnt it?
-zone = never heared of this parameter ^^
-freq 75 = changes the rate of your monitor which will not increase your fps or anything but be sure that you do not use any value which is higher then the actual rate your monitor can ahndle!
-dxlevel 90 = start cs under directx 9.0
really nice to know theese things !
I knew that there where a lot of commands for launch options but never knew what everything ment ! Theenks schlump ! :)
GJ :)
Well SchlumPF if your not playing any CM's or Gathers, you can use the -16bpp option :)
i know so i just wrote that it is an undair advantage for aiming... in kz noone cares hwo many bit you use. as i said maybe im going to write a small tutorail about getting more fps in english... already amde a list of things i want to have in that tutorail ;D
