Left/Right Prestrafe
I was longjumping and was wondering..
Does prestrafing towards the left (using D and W) or prestrafing to the right (using A and W, like T3d) make a difference? Are both prestrafes the same?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but look at T3d man. He goes right and has done 253... I'm just assuming
Hope for replies :)

Which strafe you choose to begin your jump with has no affect on the length. T3dbundy is using right strafe because that is what he is used to. He is "right-strafed" if u know what I mean :E (like the same thing as right handed).
Yeah it shouldn't make any difference. I would say right-handed people are mostly right-strafed and left-handed people are left-strafed. :D
If it makes a difference than there has to be a bug in the HL engine.
Thinking it through logically there has to be no difference at all. Like there is no difference in length when you do a bunny hop to the left or the right.
Aight, Thx for the replies dudes :)

hmmm its weird coz when i do high longjumps i can only do a 220 from right but if i do it from the left i can do a 236. but when i do normal longjumps i can only jump from the right :/ werid.
Yeah it shouldn't make any difference. I would say right-handed people are mostly right-strafed and left-handed people are left-strafed. :D
leftstrafe with cl_righthand 1 pwnz :D (I had that when I longjumped) :)
its just a matter of taste, no difference, and is good to know both directions..
now i haave problems with the pre -Xtrafe ... with "W + D" allways made the jumps ... but with "W + A" not ever works but i make the 249 units with that pre x-trafe
what the heck is a pre-x-strafe ? :D
i prefer prestrafe left since i do the nukejump tooo much =)
hmmm... i don't think there is difference but when i go right prestrafe i make horizontal strafes , if i go left prestrafe i make circle strafes dunno why :E
it's weird like that for me too. My D prestrafe is better, but my following strafes are a little rough. my A prestrafe is pretty bad but the following strafes are a fair bit smoother :)
I think is like stakeboarding > goofy or regular =P
You know what i mean ? i think is the same but you get use to pre-strafe rather right or left side
i dun think there is any difference but who knows..
