Youtube plays every file as mono. You can trick Youtube to play it as stereo, just like the file is when you uploaded it. The only You must do is to add "&fmt=18" at the end of URL and thats it.

An example:

File played as mono

and now played as stereo with added "&fmt=18" at the end of URL

A lot better sound, isn't it? The difference is huge.

if u use firefox, here's a good tool.

1. greasemonkey addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/748

2. install this script in greasemonkey: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/30082


this will automatically reload every movie u click on youtube with the &fmt=18 url. also sexy on videos, cause u don't have to click "watch in high quality".

work since many weeks with this 2 things and it's really nice :)


the thing now, i never tested, but this might be an easyer version to get this on firefox instead of greasemonkey & the script. https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/6460

It's because youtube's default setting is "Normal quality" which is .flv file with lower quality of picture and sound but that suffix mean that you'll watch high quality which is .mp4 file with higher resolution and higher quality of sound.

took you this long to realize this? youtube has had the normal and higher quality option for like 3 months now
