Im trying to make a simple UP elevator (yes, it JUST goes up) and i THINK im doing it right with the path_track and the func_tracktrain and all that. However, when i compile and test it the elevator itself WORKS but it spawns out in oblivion! it doesnt spawn where i have the path_tracks set up -.- any idea how to help? am i even doing it correctly?

Heres a pic...the elevator as u can see is in the middle of nowhere, but it should be in the tall structure (the one further away) u see there, all nice and snug in the center. WEIRD.

the elevator WORKS, its just it doesnt spawn where i want it to when i put the path_tracks in. a tutorial i read said put one where u want the elevator to start and another where u want it to and and i did but it spawns out in the boonies somewhere. i dunno why.

i used func_door to make an elevator. so when i step on it it maybe waits 1 sec before going then it goes up to where i want it to because i set the 'lip' thing to what it needs. stays open for however long then goes back dwn. worked fine.

can have it touch activates or toggled with a button easily too.

EDIT: Use easier entities. Did you placed a origin brush inside of elevator and is it connect with an elevator ?

use func_train for the elev, and path_corner for the starting/ending position
so put a path_corner down, name it for example stop1
put an other path_corner up where u want the elev to stop, and name it stop2
select your func_train and set the first stop target to stop1 if u want the elevator to start from the stop1 position.
its easy, just needs a little thinking. btw if u want the elev to go down too, just write next stop target to stop2 if the first stop target was stop1. in the path_corner's flags u can set 'wait for retrigger' so it will only start again when the button gets pressed. i hope this will help :)
