I know many knows this "trick" but I often see when people posts their movies and youtube link, they write "PLZZZZ, PrEsS WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY!!!".

The "trick" how to get the highquality or HD link automatically is: add &fmt=18 to the end of URL. e.g. youtube.com/watch?v=AbCdEfG&fmt=18 .
&fmt=22 works too but i dont really know whats the difference

This works also in old youtube videos, which dont have the 'watch in highquality' or 'watch in HD' link. e.g. | You cant see 'watch in highquality' link without 'fmt=18' || HQ added |

HD (1280x720 or more) = &fmt=22
High quality (less than 1280x720) = &fmt=18

I think thats the right thing. :p

same quality for me..

good to have reati ! gj :)

U can also typ "&fmt=6" and that gives better sound and worser quality then "&fmt=18" or something like that.

&fmt=18 : High quality
&fmt=22 : HD quality

still, EVERY video you see on youtube is .flv, which sucks balls because the sound is unsync and stuff.

if you want to have no watch in high quality/hd button, set your bitrate lower than 500 KBPS, if u want to have the watch in high quality button, do it over 500 KBPS but select a resolution that is lower than 1280x720. if u want the Watch in HD button render with more than 500 KBPS and 1280x720 or 1980x1080.

They must be 1280x720 to watch in high qualty and HD video size, add this on HD videos

&feature=channel_page&fmt=18

like this

At this moment...

Standard (fmt=0 ?) > MP3, ~64 kbps, 22.05 KHz, mono (1 channel)
fmt=5 > MP3, ~64 kbps, 22.05 KHz, mono (1 channel) (little difference in video bitrate)
fmt=6 > MP3, ~66 kbps, 44.1 KHz, mono (1 channel)
fmt=18 > AAC, ~126 kbps, 44.1 KHz, stereo (2 channels)
fmt=22 > AAC, ~248 kbps, 44.1 KHz, stereo (2 channels) (it's rare, only if uploaded video have 720p)
fmt=34 > AAC, ~68 kbps, 22.05 KHz, stereo (2 channels)
fmt=35 > AAC, ~112 kbps, 44.1 KHz, stereo (2 channels) (it's rare)

fmt=13 and fmt=17 > only on mobile devices (3GP with AMR or AAC audio)

haha, i doubt that the flv container can consist an AAC track.

st0ka07/01/2009 20:52

Isn't the HQ version stored in mp4 container? :> Check with this -> http://file2hd.com/ Put a youtube link and check the movies.

still the container is .flv, not .mp4 or anything else and that's why flash sucks. :/

qweek its easy to see what i want to say

You can watch in high quality no HD Quality
Remember HIGH quality on HD Video , ( wide video size)
