Hi.

Wouldn't it be uber to have a program that you have to download and keep running while recording a demo to try prevent cheating with various cheats that maybe fps-d cant handle?

Has anyone tried to make one?

I dont know anything about scripting but i have used various stuff like punkbuster while playing regular shooting counter-strike online, maybe someone could try to make a similiar program for kz?

As i said i dont know anything about scripting so i dont have any idea if its too hard to start to make a program like this, well its just an idea that i would like to hear more about from people who actually has scripting skills.

It would be awesome though, one more step closer to clean demos?

Maybe it could only be used online so you cant change stuff in it, is it possible to maybe have a program that you dont actually download but you have to connect yourself to some site that monitors your activity while recording? Hehe maybe its impossible but im just curious. Oh well...

Discuss.

Maybe this should be in suggestions Forum? Sorry, move it there if you feel like it.

Although it seems like it might be too much, I also agree.

Cheating is getting out of hand.

Ducky_11/01/2009 13:11

That would be nice, yes.
And its not that to create if u know how to do.

cC|SpiNe11/01/2009 13:59

As the community grows so do the cheaters. We need something to stop them.

Pieshels mapper11/01/2009 18:08

There was an idea like this some time ago, search for it.
I don't know, if somebody was in for it to create such a program.

cheche11/01/2009 18:11(edited 11/01/2009 18:12)

I would like this to avoid all the bhop-hackers on public servers.

But as long as the popular slowmo-hack is not detectable, we obviously have a long way to a clean kz.

atomic b0ng~11/01/2009 18:18

Yeah cheche! :)

But i thought if it might possible to make the program count the time recording and maybe therefore it could "know" if the time in the demo is ridicilous compared to the time played, hard to explain what i mean but i think you get it. :D

NOEL11/01/2009 18:36

Wouldn't the easiest way of doing this be making a program that checks your process list or sumthin like that.. Cause after all, to have a cheat enabled, you have to use another program, right?
Atleast this was how some danes busted a lot of Timsuguys on a serv..
But, running another program while playing makes some people that doesn't have a powerfull pc lag / giving them fps drops etc. and that would be unfair, you see?

JanniK11/01/2009 18:51

so they cant play esl too? with aequitas? ... fail noel

Yes i do see, but its 2009 and even people with 5 years old pc;s should be able to handle 1 more program?

And to save the entire community from falling apart i think the few guys with amiga 500;s could close down some programs they dont need running, or invest in some more ram.

Cheating ruins more than fps drops.

this program wouldnt take much, but process reader cant read if some dll is loaded.

m0ver11/01/2009 22:59

ESL uses aequitas, can it be used?

Nilsen15/01/2009 17:21

m0ver probably not, and very probably not coded to detect slowmo-hack.

A lof of public servers where you have to be a member on a website and pay for it has these kinds of programs, and most big leagues ofc. Don't know how it would work when you play on your LAN with these kinds of programs. Cus you would have to upload the info from the anti cheat program together with the demo. And the programs can be hacked pretty easy if their not uploading info in real time i think. Like in the websites/public servers where the program takes a screenshot of CS and checks what you are running in process list and uploads it automatically to your website profile.
Would be great with a program that could do all of this for LAN recording though.

KZMod has KCAC, so why wouldn't it work in 1.6 :/? I think it's a good idea...

cheche15/01/2009 18:28(edited 15/01/2009 18:30)

So we still can't detect the slowmo-demos that we have in the record-list right now?

Sounds great anyway,

Thanks for sharing eusunt.
