I will explain in this tipp thread, how you can make your waterfall better.
You only need to have a waterfall in the map.
If you haven't got one, here is a good tutorial from radon: http://xtreme-jumps.eu/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.43

Step1: The waterfall steam
First is to look for a good steam sprite which is exploding like thoses wall_puff.spr's
(To have a preview of the sprites you can use sprite explorer or sprite viewer)

If you found the right ones for you. Place a env_sprite between the waterfall and the water with your sprite.
Now duplicate it and move it to the left or to the right line of the waterfall line between the water.
After you made some duplication of the sprite you need to select some of the duplication and change the scale from 1 to a higher value.
While the scale has been changed, it is better to lower the framerate too. So that the steam needs a bit longer to get invisible.
You will notice it now in the 3dview of hammer that the waterfall looks better now.

Hint: You can variate the sprites in the scale further. Sometimes it is better to have 3 or 4 groups of sprites with a difference size as only 2 groups of sprites.

Step2: Waterfall noise
The next step to make the waterfall better or even realistic you need to add a waterfall sound to get a better ambient.
Half-Life/Counter-Strike comes with a waterfall sound. You need to extract it from the ambience sounds folder otherwise you need to search for a better waterfall sound.

To add a waterfall sound you only need one ambient_generic.
Depends on the roomsize you need to choose between the flags small radius, medium radius & large radius. If the waterfall is in the whole map you can set the flag on play everywhere.
Start silent and is not looped are the flags which needs to be deactived.

Voila you are done now.

There are more things which you can do with the waterfall. But thats another creativity point for you.

Can you please upload a picture of the waterfall? :) Nice tut anyway, I'll try it one day when I feel for some mapping, even tho I suck at it. :D

Nice tutorial:)! I did radons tutorial first and then this one, they're really helpfull.
Just one question: I should make the sprites additive right?
