Adding map description
11/06/2006 16:08well, atm, u can only judge what the map looks like and or if its easy or hard by its name only. but some maps have non-english names or names that say pretty much nothing or very little about the map.
so how about adding brief map description(some screens also would be nice) for every map that gets released from now on? I dont think that would be too much work since new maps arent released that often.
I think that would make quality maps stand out more and ppl will know what they are dling.

saying how hard a map is, didnt kzmaps.co.uk do that back in the day, someone must have the ratings somewhere, not too hard a job really, 10 minutes to scale the maps n00b, ez, medium, hard, xtreme?

we could also make a poll for every map, just like the articles:

Every member could rate with his own expiriences and the current rating could be displayed at the map download page.
So u can see the average rating of the whole community.

horst everyone will vote differently depending on their skill level so someone who just started jumping might give it a 10 even if its not tht hard and a veteran might give it 2 cause they think its too easy so its not a perfect system

Hmm a part of ur statement is right..
I didnt think of the aspect that the avarage rating of every map would approximately be 5.
My idea was for exemple: 1:3 times, 2:0, 3:5, 4:6, 5:2, 6:1, 7:7, 8:1, 9:5 10:4 = avarage rating of 3.4
So the results like 1 or 2 wouldnt exist...
buuuuttt..... *think* with a little graph and a limit to 5 possible answers it could be seen how many.... ok forget it all, its bullshit xD
You wouldnt be able to see if a pro or a noob voted that.
We once had a rating here but I dont know where its gone :) (like difficult or easy...)

people would have to click on the particular map to check out the challenge of it.
not such a good solution as kreedz had on his old page :(
i think if someone is experienced enough to make their own map then the author themselves could rate their map
I think that with just a few good screen shots people could judge for them selve if thier skills are up to the challenge. plus i like playing the maps with an intertesting theme, even if they seam easy to me. I find a way to make them harder and evjoy the scenery.
