how many units heigh I need to take 1 hp? and 2, 3, 4... 98, 99??

just want to know that... what is the math of this? some geek answers ^^

It's not about height, it's about falling speed. I think it was 320 units/s for 1hp. If I remember correctly :P

128 units - 0% dmg
192 units - 9-10%
256 units - 27-28%
320 units - 43-44%
384 units - 57-58%
448 units - 70-71%
512 units - 82-83%
576 units - 93-95%
640 units - 100%

Falling speed may be calculated like this:

V=g*T,

V - fallning speed (u/s)
g - sv_gravity = 800. (u/(sec^2))
T - falling time (sec)

T=sqrt(2*h/g)

h - jumpheight (units)

so... max horizontal speed with cj/wj or blj is ~380, h=V^2/(2*g)=81 units
so, theres no damage when u push the wall:)
.. u should gain 554 u/s to take 9-10%(if its true @ K.Torpeda)

Speed0=340. Time0 = 0.36s(in the top of the jump)
gaining: 60u per 0.729 second
Acc (uskorenie) = 82.3 u per second
deltaV=554-340=214 u/s
t(time of falling)=214/82 =2.6 sec
So 2.6s u need to gain 554 u/s
h=g*t^2/2 = 2704u.. its realy > 640u=))
that's why u cant feel it, that u realy can hurt by wall)

Sorry. My english is really bad, but it's just for fun, only=)

hmm think ur right pendosy

U take damage only because of vertical speed..

Speed0 = 340 ? When u at the gorund ur Vertical speed = 0.
In the top of the jump ur time in a air is sqrt(2*45/800) = 0,335 sec

what ?

Velocity counts in units per second per second (u/(s^2))

Bullshit.. U totally missunderstood formulas.. U take a damage only because of vertical speed..

NumB04/03/2009 20:39

500 units/second fall speed = 0dmg (but with dmg sound)
2000 units/second fall speed = 313dmg

Pulsar!04/03/2009 22:00

Should i interpolise fall speed to know the rest damage ? Or there is a formula to calculate it ?

I think you need to reassess just how good Einstein was :D

pulsar most formulas for cs can be taken from hlsdk, just a few are changed to fit to cs (like the edgefriction formula). numbs reply is ok but not fully correct i guess. cs shows an integer as hp but in fact it uses a float/double w/e variable which holds the hp.
if i remeber right the hp cs shows are rounded up [ ceil( fHealthpoints ) ]
