testing my editing capabilities...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2p7p4g8BHNM (watch in HD)
i don't feel like uploading the real video
i ask you rate the editing, and not the jump, tips would be nice as well :)
yoyoyoyoyoyo it says im cute IM FRIGGIN CUTE YEYEYEYE word. ill editing man specially the credits idk what it is it's just really good
I have to say that I don't like this: "put there as much effects as you want, so the jump won't be clearly seeable" style. I could see ofc what jump you did, but you're going to become some of these guys, who have so many effects on their movies, that it becomes crap stuff. sorry
in my opinion what makes video effects good is if theyre fluent throughout. i mean by not using every effect available once, just use a few throughout. time them to the music. dont use default settings. dont make the effect take over the video so things become unrecognizable. dont use cheesy effects like tv scan lines (default setting), white glow everywhere, old style effect. watch official video trailers to get nice ideas. thats what i think anyways.
As pLANE said. Just have to agree with him. Thought there would be peoples whose matter of taste isn't same (that they like when there is a lot of effects, but I'll guess that like 4 of 5 peoples doesn't have that kind of taste.
lol owned, you're funny. ^^
- Black and white classic effect was just standard vegas stuff?
- Color effects weren't adjusted carefully (the blue flash after the black and white slowmo part)
- The brown inverted stuff looked "shitty" (And i mean >>>shitty<<
sorry but try to work more with lights instead of using normal filters and playing around with them a bit. Colors are important, but be carefully they should fit to the scene.
Hope you can live with critics, but i dont like to "gj" when i just saw crap. =)
The blue flash after the black and white thing was just a transition from black and white to colour, along with the brown thing, that's also a transition to go into the clip again.
I can handle critics, that's why I posted this, but when you say things like I used normal filters when I didn't it doesn't make sense. The effects are from NewBlue.
Another thing is, what makes the jump unseeable in this?
I'm not the type to hunt down tutorials that I'm going to use once, but would like to see some tutorials posted here, where I can always reflect my knowledge to.
Thanks for the comments though :) I'll see what I can mock-up with another demo in the future and post another thread.
Post more comments though :o
if some filter is random or not doesnt matter
Main problem is that you've tried to show the effects as if they're the most important thing. That video lacked timing and editing TO THE MUSIC which should be your main focus. Even the good old flash-only vids look better if they're well synchronized to the music. Also the intro seemed like a bunch of ?Particle Illusion effects put together. Even by colorcorrecting the separate parts the same way you can achieve a bit better effect. I'm not a big fan of not-centered texts for titles. Intro is indeed quite hard to edit/composite but that one just looked like 3 different effects + text that didn't fit the particle effects. Next time try to subordinate the different parts so that they can emphasize your main idea which in your case is the title. You could also work a bit more on the colors which are always quite tricky especially if the software you're using has some limitations. The old film effect didn't fit the music at all. Sorry if my post looks a bit harsh but these are things most people overlook. Edit to express not to impress. =)
Thanks st0ka :) Yea, the intro took a few tries to iunno how to say, look good in my eyes. I guess it's not my utmost importance to say what I think is best, is the best.
I agree on the music part, I did think about that after I finished the thing, and the outro was just a quick built-in function that I, obviously, didn't spend enough time on.
