This tutorial has nothing to do with Valve Hammer Editor - it needs Adobe Audition program thanks to what you can edit sounds.

This is a tutorial how to create looping sound correctly. You can ask why do we need it? Answer is simple. If sound doesn't have needed cue information it:
1. Cannot be looped.
2. Uses more CPU than it should, cuz even if sound ends, engine still continues the file-scan.

First you must find "Adobe Audition" program thanks to what you can edit/modify sounds and there quality/format.

When found you can open "sound/misc/headshot.wav" and "sound/ambience/Opera.wav" too see the difference. And here it is. At image we can see that "Opera.wav" has some information in it, what "headshot.wav" doesn't. It's a cue what is really needed for client-side engine to get length of sound.

So how can you create that cue? Well, first lets select all audio track and press F8. Here is what you should get. You will see that something changed in file list. Now unselect the track and in the right down corner you will see a blue triangle. Press right mouse key on it and select "Go To Cue List". Another window will appear. Now press "Edit Cue Info" and change "Label" line from "Cue 01" to "Region hh:mm:ss.sss to hh:mm:ss.sss". You should get something like this. Then close the window, go to "File" > "Save" and here you have it - sound what can be looped and doesn't take so much power from client engine.

Mh wrong section for it and it is already written by dalai: http://xtreme-jumps.eu/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?39907

Btw clue is not = cue and cue is not = clue!

In that tutorial it says that you must add that cue only if you want sound to repeat. There is a "loop" function in vhe. And making that cue you will make engine work a lot easier.
