Hi guys, I haven't found a pokémon-thread yet, so I decided to make one. I know that everyone here is familiar with them and most of you even owned some trading cards - personally I still have mine stashed somewhere, and I had collected them for a very long period of time.
This sensational game is not only played by card, but by different game consoles. I was just enjoying myself playing a Gameboy Emulator on my computer - I just passed through the Johto league in Pokémon Crystal and passed the game, but still there is much to discover, as I have only captured 20 pokémons of which none are legendary.
What are your favorite pokémons, what is the most rare card you own, and what version of pokémon have you enjoyed the most? Personally I can say, that I have only played Pokémon Red/Blue/Crystal - of these I would definately have to say Crystal.
Red/Blue have sentimental value for being the first ones of this epic saga, and therefore they're not to be left in the shadows. I had more success in red and blue than I ever had in Crystal, but that is because when in 1998-2000 I played so much as a younger kid, and now I don't find as much joy in it. I remember having myself many level 100s, such as Charizard, Gengar and other nice keepsakes, but in Crystal I've only reached level ~70 on a couple of pokémons.

21/04/2009 21:43Platinum ftw, the best one since red/blue, got a nicely EV-trained Heracross that just bosses everyone, a level 67 Garchomp and Infernape ftw but they're not EV-trained and don't have the right natures.
Waiting for the daily pokemon swarm to be Belgor so I can get a Metagross and for Eevee to appear in the trophy garden so I can build an Espeon as a special sweeper!
@a: its hard to believe that you dont watch pokemon if u know those things...

Nice, soul|ftw, I have over 10 pokémon versions on my emulator - I haven't been very openminded about these version, but I could try out Platinum as I have that, too ;)
Is Heracross any good? Its that beetle-pokémon, right? I hear it does good damage and is both defensive+offensive. I didn't catch it myself, and if I catch it now (they're lvl 10) I'd have a real long while to get it leveled up to where my other pokémons are. But I'm talking about crystal, could be different than in Platinum.
a, yes, childish but brilliant! Bad guys always lose in Donald Duck-comics, and most of the movies ever created. I don't really watch the episodes myself anymore either, but I had a fun time watching them when I was younger. :-)
21/04/2009 22:02Heracross is awesome if trained the right way, mine has nearly 200 attack at level 55, pretty much kills most things in one hit.
Has a 4x flying weakness though so can get pwned easily that way
red/blue are the best noway , who never played it ? NOBODY !

lol, I received crystal as a gift when my father was in Japan, it wasn't released anywhere else back then.. I acutally learned some japanese signs and I played it in japanese, I don't know how but I managed to make it pretty far :D
