if worst comes to worst, we can make an AMXX plugin to remove the slowdown and get our doubleduck back

amxx plugin won't be used because it can be manipulated

What?
I mean just update the KZ plugins to bring back the doubleduck

and i mean with recorded demos, because there is no proof that the jumper used the original amxx plugin for doubleduck or a manipulated version ^^

then numb just doesnt have to release the .sma? so nobody can edit it

DaFox29/04/2009 03:47

Its not that hard to decompile AMXX plugins.

Oddi^29/04/2009 05:20

DaFox, it is. Or mind telling us how to do it?

I'm amxx coder and I can say that actually it's hard to decompile amxx to sma. Tried it some times - nothing worked out.

Still xj wont support nonsteam/plugins. We only have to hope for the best...

Btw, can someone write this bug in here, plz?

[blockquote]
First stepsound is always random. Plus it uses more CPU than previous version.

Look at this demos.

Also you can see that it isn't so hard to detect doubleduck, so please rethink about that slowdown.

Done.

actually the difficulty of decompiling depends on the length of the plugin. a small plugin, which a recreation of ducking should be, is not hard to decompile for people who really know how to decompile.
the problem is xj always used cs and the default movement as platform, they never allowed plugins which change the gameplay. this means using a plugin to restore the old duck is like using a doublejump plugin. another problem is, releasing an amxx binary without its sourcecode is not allowed as well. the only solution could be a metamod plugin which's sourcecode is allowed to be secret even though the plugin got released. i am sure eDark could create such a metamod plugin BUT it is still in conflict with my point about gameplay modifications.

when they want to destroy us lets do it and we start clean again..

Give me your acc and you buy a new one

You can use an older version of CS 1.6 without these updates, and run it on the OFFICIAL version of steam as a third-party mod.
How can you not know that?

You can also make any other changes you want to force any KZ rules and make it your own mod of CS 1.6, that way you will also have a better defense against cheaters.

Half-Life back in the day had these updates which made bunny hoping slower (important if you're trying to speedrun the game), which was EASILY solved by using a moded version of HL that didn't have a bunny hop cap as a third-party mod on STEAM.

You shouldn't depend on Valve so much, you can do it all on your own, its not like your too few to make this change possible.

It is forbidden if you had read the STEAM license. Also it's not depend on is steam official or not, because we are using STEAM with original Counter-Strike(over Steam) not anything extracted modified versions.

No sourcecode for it also no own mod, so there isn't a way to add something new with kzrules for it.

It is still possible without slower bhop in the original HL. Also we are using the original version of Counter-Strike without anything modified...

We are depend on Valve because we are a legal community based on the given rules by Valve & Counter-Strike

There's a bunch of online mods for Half-Life, so whats exactly is forbidden?
using an older version of CS online?
Valve always allowed mods for their games as long as you owned them, it's the first time I see someone say it is forbidden.

I was thinking that you guys could modify some game mechanics to prevent certain unwanted exploits or stuff like that, thought you had people that know how to program that could do that.

that was just an example of how a problem like yours was solved, and no, it is not possible at the same speed as in the first version of HL.
There's a speed cap that prevents bunny hoping as fast as it used to be.
A simple mod for HL without this cap solved the problem...

I didn't suggest you go illegal, but just do it in another way, less dependent.
I just had to say this because of the time I spent playing KZ, I don't anymore, so I won't mind too much if the community does nothing and lets KZ die a little.
It's up to you (KZ community).

eMTi04/05/2009 10:56

@ Played: kzmod.com
there you got your mod. Not HL1 though, but still independent and build from scratch for kreedz type gameplay.

Gonna try out Hl1 + cs 1.5 this evening maybe ;)
I'm beginning to like the idea (old knife ftw)
