About the song

This very song first came out in 1987, it quickly became the number one hit song in such countries as the Great Britain, Canada and Germany. The song became a mega_hit_success in youtube. Some other known songs by mr. Astley are such masterpieces as "Whenever You Need Somebody" and "Together Forever".

Awards

Rick Astley won the "Best Act Ever"-price in the MTV Europe Music Awards-gala. He wasn't present, because he didn't respect the contest. Whoa, what a great man indeed.

Rickrolling in general

Rickrolling in general began at 2007, the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" was quickly the hot subject of discussion due to the "rickrolling"-phenomenon. Roughly an estimated amount of 25 million people were tricked to watch the "Never Gonna Give You Up"-musicvideo by sending its link and claiming it to be something else. The 1st of april, 2008, the internet video website YouTube "rickrolled" its users by linking the "Featured Videos"-part with the links to the "Never Gonna Give You Up"-video. As said, Rick Astley was voted as the "Best Act Ever" at MTV Music Awards by people as the idea to "rickroll" the gala. The text "You've Been Rickrolled!" is often seen attached to the video, and people... it will haunt you for the rest of your life.

The user at that point is said to have been "duckrolled".
