Do people just come home at night just to long jump? Do people just come to this site to post their long jump videos? How can people get bored of kz so fast but not bored of long jumping so fast?
dunno , longjumping is the fucking boringest shit :/ maybe cuz I suck in it , or maybe cause it is pointless
04/06/2009 15:47its because it doest take much effort. u jump and concentrate for 2 seconds before u land again. then u can take a break. with jumping u have to concentrate for 3-4 min. depending on the map. so i guess longjumpers are just lazy. or something like that... how the fuck should i know

Hmph I dunno, for me long jumping takes a lot of concentration but i hate its monotonicity. Maybe it's the social factor, the need for people to boast about their skills? After all long jumping progress can be easily measured. If there would be no-one to tell about their progress would they still lj? I know if i were the only person playing kz id still occassionally play kz maps.
Maybe because for longjumping you need less skills than for making a speedrun on some map. While longjumping you just have to train your strafes and prestrafe, nothing more, for a speedrun you have to know the map well, you have to make every possible shortcut and have to bhopalot, so it's easier to fail in this way. And i think lj is popular because people use this to trickump on normal cs maps (for example you'll get some advances when you can make a bigrock jump on de_nuke)
It's easier to get better results without much geeking. But it's damn boring...

wow this thread is so biased, you can't say which is easier/harder to do. Pushing the limits of lj takes just as much practice as completing insane speedruns, its a matter of preference.
just cause all you guys dont like to see how far u can take longjumping doesnt mean its 'boring' or that the people that do are 'lazy'.
answer me this - if longjumping is so easy to get really good at, why is it that theres only 3-4 people IN THE WORLD, maybe not even that, who are serious contenders for the 257 block?

Same opinion here.
Imo, the main part of lj geek is the kind of player who play hns without kz, they just train for manage some new tricks. But, I really dont understand people who go in kz map, stay in the spawn and do lj all the day.
I always longjump when I'm stoned, it's the best relax in that state. Very simple, no difficult brain tasks, very mind-soothing.you don't even need sound to longjump well (unlike bhop). omg I'm gonna have a hit right now
I'm not good @ longjumps, i am rlly interesed on it but i cant be more than 10 or 20 min jumping two same blocks.

i agree that longjumping isnt such time consuming as kzruns but it doesnt make ljing easier. in my case, ljing dont make me nervous as recording kz runs. unless u make something like 255x2 xD i had huge burst of adrenaline there and my arms were shaking, so i failed to make it x3 but it was so damn close, lol. i wasnt longjumping all the time tho. actually i like bhopping and climbing more than lj, but i wasnt geeking the maps to record them because i dont care about wrs. im playing for fun and for myself ;]
so i bet many ljers thinking the same way as me. w/e they having fun.
