PC turns on but keyboard, mouse and monitor do
hey guys ive had a big problem recently.
firstly looong time ago i opened up my pc and started to clean all the dust cos it was making so much noise.then after few months the cpu fan didnt stay connected properly to the processor..so then the pc wouldnt turn on properly, it would turn on and befoe reaching windows loading page it would turn off by it self..so then i bought a new cpu fan and i connected it correctly to the mobo..and now when i turn on my pc the keyboard, mouse and monitor dont respond, the monitor just keeps saying "ATTENTION NO VIDEO INPUT"
im pritty sure its not the monitor cos few days ago when i still had old cpu fan it worked but the pc turned off by itself....
ive already tried disconnecting everything from motherboard and also tried removing the battery from mobo and jumper too, but still nothing worked..so i then google'd it and i saw something i hadnt tried, it was reseting the BIOS, but i cant reset it cos i cant see anything on the monitor :@ oh and ive tried connecting the monitor to the vga port but nothing -_-
anyone know what the problem is or what i can try??
thx for ur time guys :)
Sounds like the memorys are broken, if you have two try removing one them and start the computer.
Other than that, did you use a vacuum machine to clean the computer? If you did you could have damaged the motherboard or other components with the ESD (static electricity). If it doesent boot up with the memory test, you should try a new graphic card.
Since the computer boots up right? But you just cant see anything?
no i didnt use vaccum xD i just used some toilet paper (ROFL) to clean places where i couldnt reach very well. when i had old cpu fan it would startup and this memory test thing would come up, but didnt have enough time to press anything and the pc just turned off =/
and i only have one memory on the mobo..
So it doesn't start up at all anymore?
to reset the bios you can easily remove the lithium cell of the mainboard.
i had a similar problem with my old computer, once my cpu fan was not conneceted properly to the mainboard (fan was broken) and on the second time my entire mainboard was broken :X

when i turn on my pc now, it turns on cos i can see lights on and everything normal but exept for the monitor which i cant see nothing it just displays: NO VIDEO INPUT and the mouse and keyboard dont work =/
maybe its CPU? idk just guessing...
CPU no
looks like graphic card is corrupted or the mobo.
do you have a second graphic card somewhere to check it out?

Did you apply thermal compound on the new cpu cooler...?

Just for the record, you dont _have_ to do that, it's just to lower the heat.
Other than that, uhm. Try with another motherboard :D
its the same thing mine was doing and mine was the mobo which in turn caused the bottom of my hard drive to melt so be careful with just turning it on and off and not knowing wtf is wrong
ite guys thx but 2morrow some1 is gonna come look at my comp then tell me wats wrong(for free) then ill post results here!
thx guys!
hey guys some1 came to my house to check out my pc..
