editing optimisation tip
i got an idea, but i don't tryed it yet (i will)
i'm making a movie with a 3 years old computer, and i'm bored of waiting the video preview all the time.
I captured the demos with 400 fps, and working in vegas with 40, the files have a big size, blabla. its TOO much......... i can't work properly.
the idea: re-compile all individual video sequences to 80 fps, and work in vegas with them (keep the same name sure) and copy old file in another place. With 80 fps, the file are lighter, vegas is no lagging.
At the end of the editing, replace all 80fps files by the originals 400fps ones, for final render.
so i'm gonna try all that this week, today i'm busy. i think this method should work without problem
note, my hard disk is a WD velociraptor 10000rpm 3gb/s.
Windows and vegas are running on another 7200rpm disk..
Technically there is no reason that i should have any time/read-acces problem.
i think the problem come from cpu :(
I thought u stoped making movies :D .. Try it and tell us how it went out.
if you tried it please post your results, you should definitly test it with 2-3 avis and sound marks so you see if there's any difference in velocity :o
well i think you already tried this but theres a pre-render/ram-render option in vegas to play smaller parts rly fluently in the preview.. but considering your old pc your ram prolly wont be big enough
it work perfectly
no velocity problem
after the edit, i've mistaked the placement of used files, and vegas asked me the "shearch for missing file" message. set there the old files (folder)

its the same for me, the problem is the time-to-read on disk. the preview render do not change the size of the video :) (my computer is not soo old, but 400fps pure are insane)
