Battlemovie settings..?
Hello, I am going to try making a battlemovie and I'm wondering what settings do you use?
(I'd like an answer from boomdll) ;)
For example
Left screen;
width: ?
height: ?
X Center: ?
Y Center: ?
Right screen;
width: ?
height: ?
X Center: ?
Y Center: ?
Also what resolution do you recommend for making it look good?
Thx in advance! :)
capture settings :
resolution ingame : 1280x720
capture mode : fraps/startmovie (depends on the size of the demo... if its big, then fraps; if not...startmovie @ 90 fps)
Vegas settings :
project resolution : 1280x720
Left screen :
width - 2564.0
height - 1442.2
X center - 1280.0
Y center - 360.0
Right screen :
width - 2564.0
height - 1442.2
X center - 0.0
Y center - 360.0
this is how it looks : http://i28.tinypic.com/ririfm.jpg
I would recommend kaffee's settings. so you can use the full screen
very nice !

1280/2x720/2 = 640x360. No scaling and there you go. You even have some space to add texts. :D
can someone post kaffee settings? :/
maybe i'm offtopic but i prefer these settings for the looking of the movie..

With some texts the result is nice :>.
i think rK is referring to k a f f e e`s latest battle movie... well i dont like it when parts of the screen are cut :( .
it doesnt look that good imo. but i guess thats a matter of taste :P
he didnt cut anything of the screen. its just a mirv effect where you can show the normal visibility of cs in an other image resolution. and it doesnt get any mistakes due streching orso.
and I was not reffering to kaffees latest battle movie, more to all of his (around 5-6) ones.
sure its a matter of taste, but with the way of boom.dll or most of battle movies creators you loose 50% (!) of the video picture with black screen and the important part gets very small. sure you can add some text there, but the names you can show on the clip and dont need to be there all the time
50% off the video picture means 50% off the file size and you could simply double the fps for example. I'd be quite happy with that, especially if it's a long run. I'm not making such movies, but still, that's how I'd do them. Whether you agree or not is your call. :)

thats true... i dunno now... i cant remember ( *feeling dumb* ) but i had another type of settings... something like :
capturing in 4:3 resolution > 16:9 project resolution in vegas - this might be good
capturing in 16:9 resolution > 4:3 project resolution in vegas - this might not work...
people should experiment :)
but stoka... I was talking about 50% of the screen = blackscreen. so you got same resolution, but the real video is just 50% of that. I know that you could do over unusual res with 32:9 but who wuold do that? ^^

I was talking about rendering from CS. :)
