I know, its not easy to make new, good maps. But you only release about 3-4 maps every 4-5 months...
Why dont you release 1 map every month? It would be much better.
When I remember correctly you made a poll about it, and discussed it in the weakly, but since then nothing happened =(

Get your facts straight.

And to answer your question: I don't know, but I prefer the bigger releases because then there's a bigger chance for less skilled people to get wr's and also because then you can dedicate a whole evening trying maps.

One downside might be that mappers don't get as much credit and recognition as they would've got if their maps were released individually. Someone wrote the same thing in the "amount of wr per release" poll and it makes sense.

<-- Most of the mapcheck admins have been checking/playing maps, just be patient, they are coming soon

yes some are still in the mapcheck procedure because we are awaiting the final results for the mapcheck admins soon.

How is that a good thing? That only means that the WRs for the maps will be worse => less attention for maps. When there's map releases with many maps, some maps get totally forgotten and some of the WRs aren't very good. WRs are definitely not meant to be easy. 1 map per release is a good idea in my opinion.

agree with Flibo the catz0r, I lost my attention for the new or the more unknown maps, 1 of the reasons that most ppl are not impressed watching random SCs on random KZ maps.

Kraeft18/09/2009 15:26(edited 18/09/2009 15:36)

Flibo, in almost every case those worse records get beaten or improved after only a few releases. I just think that it's good that the less skilled people get a chance to record and "achieve" something. And even if they're not beaten in the following couple of releases, ultimately they will still get beaten by pros. The perfect demos come in time anyway.

And I don't really follow your logic in your first conclusion. Shouldn't a bad wr push better players to improve it?

Mehz18/09/2009 16:38

Just because a new player beats a wr, it doesnt mean its bad Flibo.

Dont discuss this topic here, it was already decided by the poll and the admins agreed on the weekly. This was just a thread to ask about the status and nothing more.

Thank you plague/demolite

If your question was to the mappers: I think a mapper who wants to get his map accepted (KZ/Custom, doesn't matter imo) should, like, dedicate him self to the map. I, my self, put 'feeling' to my maps, that's why I'm so slow at making them. Because if you push your self to make a map, the results will be awful. You might get nice look, but the jumps will be boring as hell, you wont get people's attention, and your map will be forgotten quickly.
If your question was to the mapchecking team: plague said it. :)

Not necessarily. You could take kz_tomorrow for an example. I did some run for the first demorelease after the maprelease which is DEFINITELY beatable and not even so hard, but for some reason the map was forgotten right after the release. Anyway, my point was that if there was a map per month, people would dedicate lots of more time to geek it.
