6/20 demos, is the world record scene nearly dead? imo more players are inactive than new player come. hel semi-active, kunqui inactive supa semi-active and that are only the first .... post your opinion, is the worldrecord scene already dying?

The world records are getting harder and harder to do, quite simple. People who have played kz for many years are the ones who have world records, and after many years you get bored, and you need alot of experience to break the records and the top players of this era are slightly inactive but there are "newcomers" rising up - such as KeltA, the god.

It just doesn't suddenly die. There are times when there are more recorders and then there are times with less recorders, but never at least in the past has recording died. It's not like records come in a steady stream, they come when they are recorded, duh. Everyone can't be motivated all the time.
Why are you saying "already"? It's been here for quite a while already...

Flibo is not right. Just the people have real life and maybe they study.. the school started and thats the reason why there arent so many active players but when u join in the servers they are full , because recording is getting harder and harder and its tired.

Of course its not, you gotta realize (as others said) people have lives and they want to out and live their own lives, without having to think about people complaining about world records not being beaten. If you are so anxious to see world records happen, go out and record some of your own, then you will know where a lot of unactive recorders feel. I've seen a lot of the posts in the chatbox and forums, it starts to get annoying im sure to a lot of people.
The end off summer holiday maybe?

i meant it like that the records already are getting unbeatable if u dont nerd the map 10 hours aday.
the runs of zhady and kunqui are just that hard to beat and so are others, like the ones of puppetz. so all the wr's are going to be perfect and then we will see 1 demo realeses. im sure that after the next summer holidays nearly no wr could be beaten anymore.

Okay. XJ dies because of school. I just wonder why XJ didn't die a year ago at the same time when schools started. Hmm...
Summer vacation isn't a really good argument. Some people don't want to waste their time in front of the computer the whole summer, but some people definitely geek the whole summer.
What are the signs of XJ dying anyway? There's still a moderate amount of demos being submitted all the time.
EDIT: All WRs definitely aren't perfect. There are uber insane goddamn 1337 demos, but there are a few suckier ones, you just need to find them.

There will be as many WR's as there are atm, and its only all the short maps like goldbhop and records between 00:00 and 02:00 there's almost impossible to beat.. Maps over 02:00 is not even close to be impossible.
And because of that timerbug rule they made then its just even more easy and the next will probably be times like 13:37.88 like cosy-climbing.

why would it suck? its a time trial game ffs
show me 1 other official world record that involves time trial that doesnt record miliseconds.
i think its stupid to not include them, after all its about WORLD RECORDS - not about just watching demos with large improvements. plus, nobody is forcing anyone to watch the demos, so if u dont want to watch one thats a few miliseconds faster, then dont.
but it should still be recognised as the new world record cause its faster than the previous time.
and also, ive heard people saying it would be boring to watch the same demo.....but answer this - how would it be any different to have miliseconds on a -2min map, than it is when a ~4min map is beaten by ~1-2 seconds. its basically the same demo then but nobody is complaining. by that logic xj should implement a rule that if u time on a 4+ min map you have to beat it by more than 5 seconds otherwise it will be boring.(sarcasm)
