tried searching for this, cuz i was SURE ive seen it before on the forum but i cant seem to find it so....

...is there a way (any way at all) to get multiple skyboxes in a map?

i.e. the sky of one part = nice sunny day
another part of the map = spacey stary sky

darn hammer/half-life engine limitations!

It's impossible unless you use some weird custom sky where half of it is nice sunny day and other half is spacey stary sky. And then create your map that only the needed part can be seen (through windows, holes, etc.)

its not possible unless a coder does it with a special entity for a mod. but the light part can be made for sure.

Disable light_environment being global.

ZHLT 2.1 added a simpler more manageable system for light_environment's. The new behavior is that a map only needs a single light_environment entity to light up all sky everywhere. The placement of the entity no longer matters. The -noskyfix option turns this feature off and enables the original code which require multiple light_environment's to properly light up an outdoor area.

-noskyfix

How about some huge textures to cover 4-5 sides (3-4 walls, 1 ceiling)? Like the jungle textures in kz_exn_(ez)jungle, kz_kzdk_timber ?

thats what i did h1m1, but it looks kinda meh, like u can tell its just a big box, whereas the normal skybox is "seamless". oh wells. and yeah i already figured the light part out. i just wanted two different seamless skies thanks anyways
