Hi, im thinking of buying an external hard drive, mainly for storage, and moviemaking, i make a lot of movies and have lots of stuff on my hdd atm, i got 250gig with 50gb storage lol.

Im thinking of getting 1tb, should it be enough?
and which brand do u people recommend? Seagate? cuz its quite cheap for the space.

I need to upgrade my pc and here are the things which I plan on getting, not just for moviemaking, but in general and playing games to decent fps

I have asus p5ne - sli and not looking to upgrade motherboard soon, gonna get:

- 1TB External
- Intel Q6600 (2 years ago, but still love it and my mobo is made for this cpu)
- 9600GT
- Also need CPU fan, cuz im going to clock my cpu maybe 4000rpm needed? (Megahalem? Zalman?)

Thanks all

500gb is enough for me

go for 9800 GTX/GT it's better than the 9600 GT or go for Ati HD 5770 it's really uber and it's not so expensive.

And for your HDD, go for 1TB it's near the same price of 500 GB and i recommand samsung at 7200rpm

500 gb is enough yea, but hm.. As pruno said, it's nearly the same price for a 1TB.. About brand, I don't know at all :F

GL !

rofl, thats more than enough..ive got 145Gb(HAHAHAHA) on my Hard drive and i can do 1 movie at a time..but 500Gb is good enough i think..with 1tb u can make like 5 movies at a time and probably ur still gona have lots of free space..

1TB is much :D i already filled about 550gb of mine xD

i would only get seagate or western digital for hard drives.

for cpu, no board is really made for one chip, just a socket. there are many many better cpu's out there now for better deals than that. and when you look at fans, its not the blade speed that matters, its the amount of air they move. zalman is good but pricey. my friend has a q6600 and an arctic 7 freezer running at 3.2ghz and 40 C.

and agree with pruno on the cards.

hmm ok, cuz for the cpu, i would've got q6600 now, and a few years later, get a new good mobo and get i7 series (couple years later), because my mobo can't support i5, ix series, i would've liked to maximize the potential of my motherboard, that's the reason I'm mostly likely get q6600

you can use the same board without getting the q6600. in america, they're hard to find even, because they are so old. i would get a q8200 and overclock it, or a q9400. both are better performance, and price than a q6600 and both will run on your board.

GTX295's connected in 3-way SLI + Agiea PhysX? that's pretty nice...
P.S. I wouldn't buy this pc just because it is Kingston
