i think its subjective to who cares about such things.
some people may be embarrassed by their number, others, like myself, dont even take it into consideration.
imo it means nothing as i had been playing for 1-2 years before i even signed up on this site.
The number in no way relates to the players skill or knowledge of the game. I guess it comes down to who feels the need to point out a registered #, and whether that person feels the need to take it personally.

I could have joined XJ 4 years ago and only logged on twice and not KZ'ed since, or I could have played KZ for 5 years and joined yesterday.

There is no rule that smaller ID means higher skill/experience but usually it fits and it's fine for me how it's now.
