Need help..
Can power supply malfunction cause cpu overclock itself? Because my cpu does it always from 2,2 to 2,7 and it doesnt speed up my pc, it only slowing it down... I tried reinstalling bios and OC few times, it did not help. I dont really know what to do. And it shows that cpu is overclocked through Everest ultimate edition and some other programms, but when im in bios everything is fine there. The second problem is that all my usb devices not working - i get error "Unknown device" and when im in BIOS its working fine.. I tried different OS so its not OS or BIOS problem... Only one thing left is - hardware.. Maybe anyone here faced similar problem? The problems i have from overclocked cpu - all games run slower than they shouldm like CS in slow motion... The funny thing is that if i turn off pc and it stays down for 20-30 mins after i turn on everything works fine in OS for like 5-10 min, and then again OVERCLOCK appears.. I checked the temperature its not overheating im sure of it.. So i hope someone can help me understand whats wrong.. It started like month ago suddenly.. And one more thing, i can play any game as long as i want its just runs slower, i tried lots of different drivers its not drivers problem either..
You got slowmo! You should be grateful.
Nah, well, never heard of such. It would help a bit to list your specs. It's weird that it goes from 2,2 to 2,7 unless you have some power saving option on. If Everest can show your FSB clock frequency and CPU's core voltage, are they changing? Or is it just the multiplier?
Are you totally sure about the temperature? What values are you getting? There's a small probability that your temperature sensors are damaged, although that doesn't exactly explain the slowmo effect.
It's difficult to say because I've never seen anything of that kind. If it's possible, you could try another CPU with your computer and see if it works, or switch the motherboard, or switch the power supply, or pretty much anything. Yes, that's pretty difficult and takes time.
Or you could ask this in a hardware/overclocking forum.
EDIT: Now I remember a video where a guy took off the cooler from his CPU and the gameplay started going veery slow. That could be your problem.

I have a feeling that its something wrong with Power supply.. Yes CPU FSB, CPU Speed,Memory BUS everything is clocking and HyperTransport.. As you can see on this image
